Shapeshifter & armor?

Post by Stilgar »

I heard a shapeshifter can wear armor in Tob.
What kind of armour can he wear?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

@Stilgar, I've deleted an identical post to this which you placed in the SoA category. Please don't double post threads. If you want answers, just choose one category, and knowledgable forum members will reply. Thanks. :)

You can wear Shadow Dragon and White Dragon scale armour.
Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

When wearing one of the magical armors, you loose the benefit of Rings and Cloaks of Protection. And since you do most of your fighting in shapeshift form...

Actually, not really. I am still playing with my Shapeshifter (SS) in WK 5 (just got Sendai and Abi to go)... and I mostly fight in my natural form. I know I know.. it's pointless to do that if I am a SS and I might as well be a fighter.. but I dunno... Greater WWW sucks after SoA.. and my elemental trans (ie. Earth) is GOOD.. but I cant cast magic and cant heal myself (and others) with spells. I mean, put it this way:

Shapeshifted (either Fire or Earth):
AC (well, this is MY AC after armour and stuff.. no spells): -13 (or -14 ish)
Thac0 (this was at around level 18-20): 5-6 (??, can't remember!.. possibly 3)
Cant spellcast

Natural Form:
AC (at level 23 now): -11 !!!! (this my my highest so far w/o spells)
Thaco: -3 (easily.. and without and Gloves of Weapon skill even!)
Spell casts

***

The only bad thing in natural form.. is that u attack only once.

Ok, I think I went a little off topic here (duh), but I just wanted to point out that wearing the Shadow or White Dragon scales IS useful... and in my case, it's a must! haha
