Timestop problems

Post by Rob-hin »

Everytime I cast timestop, it's possible enemies can do what they want while they should be frozen in time.

When I cast this spell and this happents, is it because some creatures are to strong for timestop? It has happend at demagoron, the dragon bhaalspawn and now at the final fight (not gonna say the name of the boss but you know who I mean).
Or is it an error, and should all enemies be frozen in time? If it is an error is there someting I can do against it?(Ihave the latest patch installed I think)

A few enemies are indeed unaffected by Time Stop (in fact, you casting it is in their benefit :( ), so it's no bug.

Damn!
So, no more timestop... too bad, I really liked the spell and waited for ever to be able to use it.
Now I must change my whole spell choices because they were chosen together with timestop. I have to make a whole new strategy now.

Thanx MT

I understood there were only four creatures that could act in other peoples' Time Stops, so it's still very useful.

Abazigal isn't immune to Time Stop. The enemies who are though are below.

It's still a very useful spell.

Ah, I remember the time Imoen cast Time Stop during the last fight. Just as she finished it, she got hit by a bout of fear. So while Mellisan then proceeded to beat my frozen PC into the ground, Imoen spent her precious Time Stop running away :)

Rob hin, read xyx's posts on chain contingency. if he fields a sorc he might not get time stop, cause with chain contingency and spell trigger you practically don't need it at all...I think xyx said that, cant remember...

chain contingency casts instantly, and you can chain destructo spells of doom FAST.

get both, and lear nthier use, and you can do some major damage...

my favorite, the abu dahzims of doom...3 abu dahzim, set to cast when you see enemy. decides most battles in the first round. if I am facing a nasty one, will toss in a power word blind so my follow up spells will work almost with impunity.

I wonder if p word blind will work with some of the super toughs...

That's right! And so are traps (the Real Man(TM) uses his sword to deal damage), the Wand of Spell Striking (the Real Man(TM) fears no wussy enchantments), the Cloak of Mirroring (the Real Man(TM) simply takes the damage), Hiding in Shadows (the Real Man(TM) stands where his enemies can see him, so they can fear him), and Stoneskins/Ironskins (the Real Man(TM) is not afraid to see his own blood)!

Just so you know!

would be fun to take on Real Man(TM) on a mage to grunt match...opening blast abu dahzims do around 300 damage to him, yes I have had that much damage inflicted on my eniemies before, and see if the Real Man (TM) can run away in panic fast enough...

The only problem with this spell is you have to have your real sorc or mage cast it, cannot be cast by project image, but if you really need to conserve spell power, out comes project images cast via chain, 4 images casting everything but the dreaded kitchen sink spell at you...

this aweful spell is like meteor storm, or ice storm, except that giant kitchen sinks fall out of the sky on the poor helpless enemy, inflicting 10d6 per hit...

Thog not as stupid as he looks, then. ;) Sarcasm is notoriously hard to grasp for the un-initiated (like children and stuff).
