Okay. After having played a full game through... and started a couple of others (including a Kensai)... I decided from reading the Baldurdash bug list that I would play from the beginning with those fixes, because among other things I want Imoen's thief skills to be what they were supposed to be, and the same with a couple of the other chars that get short changed their weapon proficiencies and stuff. So... I completely deinstalled BG2 except for the save games. Installed BG2. Then I installed the latest official patch. Then I installed the entire Baldurdash fixpack (to remove exploits as well). Then I installed their text fix. Then I installed the bonus CD merchants (that was the only "tweak" I installed).
Today I load up one of those Kensai save games that came from before I did all this, just cause I want to move one of them forward a little further... and when I load it, no matter at what point, my reputation gets put back to what it is set at at the beginning of the game! UGH!
Fixing that is not my question tho. I don't mind restarting in order to avoid the problem. My problem is that later on I'm going to want to deinstall all these things and install ToB, cause I'm going to want to play through at least some of Watcher's Keep while still in SoA. Am I going to have any unexpected side effects like that rep thing when I do that later on? Cause if I'm going to, then screw it, I'll just reinstall again, put ToB on top of it, forget the bug fixes and go from there.

Alternative question:
Are the NPC starting stats that are broken fixed by either the BG2 official patch or ToB? I realize that they could only be fixed by such things when starting a new game and first encountering them. How about being able to rest in the paladin stronghold?
If those things are fixed by the SoA official patch or ToB, then I won't bother with the rest of the unofficial fixes regardless.
