How can I dual/multi class

Post by Vicsun »

Is that possible? I don't want to be a thief ONLY. When I got thief trained I lost a lvl 6 fighter. I know I can get back to the fighter with the prophet or Dak'kon but I want both classes active, coz I don't want my fighter to be for nothing.

Your character is a singularity. Instead of being a dual-class or a multiclass, you are a sort of multi-singleclass. You can be a fighter, a thief, and a mage, but only use one set of skills at a time.

You begin as a fighter. There are characters you'll encounter who can initiate you into the thievish and magely arts. While a fighter, thief or mage, you only gain experience in that profession. Once you've learned the basics of a profession, you only need to speak to a specific NPC character in your party, and you'll be able to switch to it. There is no experience cap to any of the professions.

Hope that helps. I'd give more straightforward hints, but I don't know how much you want to actually know. :)

I know the fighter and the thief and the fighter that can train me while I'm IN the hive. What about a mage? I know a mage in the festhall, and in the lower (upper?) ward. However I don't wanna wait untill I reach it because all my XP will be wasted.

edit> How come Da'kkon is a fighter/mage and Annah is a fighter/thief, and they both progress as multi-classed characters?

The Nameless One is a special case, and can only have one active class at a time. Once he has activated all three fighter/mage/thief classes for the first time, he can switch between the classes at will by talking to either Dak'kon or Annah. He does retain some of the attributes of the fighter class like weapon specialisation and hit points when switching to the other classes, so I wouldn't consider leveling up as a fighter a few times a waste of experience points. He can train as a mage in the hive with Mebbeth in Ragpicker's Square.

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Looking for the person to unlock your magely gifts? Try Mebbeth's Hut in Ragpicker's Square. (It's in the southern central area.) Mebbeth will have your character perform a series of short quests for her, after which she'll give you a book of spells. You can rest there, heal without resting, buy stuff (including spells), etc.

Once you become a mage, Dak'kon can switch you between a mage and fighter, and back again.

I'm probably way too late tow rite this, but anyway, humans can't multiclass. All that Nameless One actually does is to dual-class to and fro. Some DMs (dungeon masters) think it appropriate for the dual-classer for some training. (Though you'd usually need 17 to the new prime requisite).
All that can go wrong, will, unless it doesn't, but then, it might anyway.
