You know, The Maid of Orleans exhibited classic signs of Schizophrenia. In this day and age she would have been regarded as a mental patient. Some even think she was a transexual (I think she just had to wear mens clothes/armour to be taken seriously).

If you just go by the "voices" phenomenon, fine; but her general behavior was far too stable and consistent to come from a schizophrenic. As far as the armor is concerned, well, that was the work uniform. A mechanic doesn't go to work in a 3-piece suit
