I've been astounded that noone here as heard of the boy who flew a plane into a building down in florida, USA. Generally I would come here to get their opinions on some real subjects every now and then but one didnt seem to pop up. Well, I decide now to post one about it and my thoughts about this are all in a poem I wrote. The kid was really troubled and I think this poem really illustrates that there are a lot of troubled ppl out there. Flames/discussion/posts wanted.
In the yard,
children played with no fear.
hunger comes and they
walk inside, have a meal.
See outside the window,
one left left standing.
all by himself
alone, once again.
Lunch then comes,
throngs sit together.
a chair outside
not by choice, eats in solitude.
Dances roll by,
parties pass on.
gatherings now forgotten
spent not at those but in an alley.
A strange gift offered,
accepted rather readily.
attaches himself soon
money spent, more gifts.
school ends, goes to the alley,
one home as good as the next.
for the one with a roof
foreboding, uninviting.
Frustration builds.
watch the crowds
with disgust, resent,
wish to end it all.
Circumstances change,
war breaks out.
battle of moral rights,
he chooses the other.
More willing for the grave,
more willing for the other cause.
seen as an outcast,
he just plans.
So he ends his life,
in a rather spectacular way.
noone sees inside,
just whats wrong on the outside.
Thats the end of the poem, what do u think?

Now that's a love poem if I ever heard one.

I agree with Rob-hin. Somehow, it hits a part in you where you feel that sense for the need of being cared for and understood and appreciated.

It didn't seem worth posting about someone who praised the actions of a depraved madmen. I wouldn't waste my time.

Correct me if I misunderstood your understanding of Vinin's topic, but I would think that his post is anything but praising the actions of a troubled person.Originally posted by Gruntboy:

I think that he is more on pointing out the sad reason behind such an action. The pain of solitude. The pain of not being part of any group.
I guess a lot of people find such a "spectacular" act so stupid.
I think so too.
But would it be prevented had someone actually was there for him?
It's not more on what he did.
It's why he did it.

No, I don't think I misunderstood Maharlika. What he did, for whatever reason, was not worth posting about.
If he was lonely, he can pick better role models than OBL.
All I can say is thank God he only managed to top himself and didn't kill anyone esle.

Grutnboy, I'm sorry but I guess this would be my first flame.
Grunt, when you were growing up, did you have a good role model? Perhaps a parent, a teacher, a best friend, a bigger brother? Personally I did have one, and that was my older cuz. He taught me how to live right, that lfie was worth living adn prospering in. I'm sure that many of have the same, soemone to look up to.
Now imagine that you never did. You would never have the initiative to go find one. I mean after all if one never came across you, you wouldnt know adn would jus blow it off. So now you grow up to be 17, no rolemodels no guidance. Now a war breaks out and you read about what Osama Bin Laden believes. Being the lonely deprived person that you are, you think about these beliefs and after constant rummaging through your mind, believe they are right. I mean after all NOTHING is truely right, just whatever u want to believe is right. So you decide to support those beliefs you subscribe to. What happens? well you give your life for your beliefs.
Is this not what is happenign also for the US? Those marines, set in their beliefs that america is right, are willing to give their lives to fight for their beliefs. So now tell me Gruntboy, if this was one of your best friends or you, would you care more?
