New Movies

I was wondering if anyone have seen the Dungeons and Dragons movie, also Final Fantasy the Movie. Is it worth it ? I understand from the trailers they're computer generated movies.

The DnD movie has real "actors" (and I use the term in its loosest sense), it's not entirely computer-generated butI think the dragons probably are. It's also one of the worst films I have seen in recent memory. Really. It's terrible...

Final Fantasy, on the other hand, is entirely computer-generated. And it hasn't been released yet.

THNX Georgous :) I've seen the FF "The Spirit Within" trailer - it looks cool. I hope they've got better animation than Max Steel or Star Ship Trooper animated series.

BTW Gerogi Jeremy Irons is a truly fantastic actor, he may have lost it recently but if anyone remembers his work with Cronenberg i am sure they would agree with me. :)

Final Fantasy is a movie I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. The CGI is absolutely incredible and if Squaresoft continues its tradition of quality, it should have a fascinating plot and an excellent musical score as well. Keeping my fingers crossed... :)
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

@Mr Sleep I am actually a fan of Jeremy Irons, but in DnD he hideously overacts (the appaling script probably didn't help)... Thora Birch is also a credible actress, as you'll know if you've seen American Beauty. They are the best of a bad bunch ;)

I haven't seen the trailers for Final Fantasy (it isn't out here till August, although I believe it opens very soon in the US?) but the still pics I've seen look pretty damn good.

I haven't seen Thora Birch in interview. Her character in the DnD movie is practically a carbon copy of the Childlike Empress from Neverending Story though

I thought Haley Joe Osment was one of the less annoying child stars I've seen...

@Weasel thanks, but I have problems viewing trailers on my PC for some reason... plus I don't think I actually have any software to view them with since my hard drive died

Ah, Jeremy Irons, one of the top British evil actors :D (why are villains always British? even if they have other accents, they're played by British actors! Why?) Yes, DW, I'm afraid it's true... so if you value your image of Jeremy as a good actor... you won't see the DnD movie.

The only American i can think of that comes close to j. irons is the fantastic James Spader, but his career has gone down hill somewhat recently :(

I preffered the orignial. There was just something more beleivable in the original the claustraphobia of their relationship really eats at you.

Damn i can't remeber the name of the actor in the original :( all i can think of is Caplin. :( :)
