I7 r0x0r :D :D

Naa - I think it is a great instrument for the european community, and am really annoyed that Denmark is not a part of it.
We most likely will be eventually but many danes are so stupid and stuborn that they fear it will cost us our identity that the currency will be called €uro instead of kroner

€€€€€€€€€€

Ow well... What to say about the €uro, money is money. I liked the Gulden but I'll get used to the €uro as well.

The only thing I don't like about the €uro is how strong it is compared to the dollar.

And I don't know what to do with my crime money :p

€€€ is good. (and I wont need to change my money when I go out of Holland on a Saturday night or on a holliday.) :D
Guinness is good for you.

Well personally i am happy to be out of the Euro until it proves it's worth, British Sterling may have appaling interest rates etc, but at least we as a country control them. I can see a lot of confusion and problems coming form the mass change to Euro's.

And for tomorrows Xenephobic comments.... :D :D

Ok. What happens when a country hits a financial crisis? When we had our own currencies, generally you saw that currency devalued (ie the Lira) do the nations with more stable economies carry those that are unstable?

Personally I am not for the Euro.

Also, in the UK it appears that the vendors are setting the exchange rates at the moment.

I would assume that is why so many countries are being forced to submit to the Euro.

Plus what happens when one of the countries with the Euro invade a smaller country, do all the other countries have to fund their war effort?

Well useally when a country in Europe hits economical "crisis" it already affects all other member countries because of the thightness of these countries in econamical aspects.
The european countries are very similar when looked upon financially - and also there are guidelines placed on the induvidual countries in terms of max inflation etc.
What will be the biggest "difficulty" in terms of the euro will be to get a somewhat similar pricelevel for goods.

And btw devaluation as an economical tool is very dangerous and is actually seldom used(or should seldom be used :) )in industrial countries (IIRC last was sweden some years back)

All the euro is, is only one step futher than the "finacial and intress"-policies already carried out the last couple of years in euro-land, and it's most significant change to lives is that you now can use the same currency in more countries.

Say what you want, I'm all happy I've got €uros at last!
Always had soo many foreign money at home: Gulden, D-Mark, francs français, francs belges/luxembourgeois and now: just one!
I even had to have two wallets, one for french and one for belgian/luxemburgish, I can tell you that was really annoying.
