Life flashes before your eyes

Post by Darkpoet »

Here is a question, I put before you all.

Do you think in a death accurring accident, that your life flashes before you?

When I was thrown from the car, through the windshield. My life did not flash before me, I was thinking to myself, this is going to hurt when I hit the ground.

Only to be awaken by a little girls voice.

Strange isn't it, out of all the accidents, I have been to. I recall only three people said that, their life flashed before them.

Out of all the stupid things I have done. I have never seen my life flash before me. Oh wait, yes I did. The day I got married. :D

I was on a three day bender and saw my life flash in front of my eyes. :D

@DP: Your life didn't flash before you, because you were sure not to die at that moment, I think. :)

So when my life flashes before me, that's it. I'm going to drink a Guinness every night, just in case. That would be the last thing I want to see.

I will have to look at my picture of Minerva then, because that's the last thing I want to see. ;)

LOL :D

I meant, at that point, you are willing to live/fight for your life. I think if you (or anyone) see your life flashes by, you are unconsciously thinking, "This is it. It's all over." You know what I mean?

That's my personal opinion, though. :)

I got ripped off, I had a close call and Weasel's life flashed before my eyes.

Do you work on a farm or something, buddy? Most of it involved looking at the hindquarters of livestock
Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time

I see your point. I also look at it this way, I didn't have time to think about death. That could be a possibility also.

All I know is, I want it quick. I don't want to know, that death is even coming.

Yeah, I want it quick as well. But, I don't mind my death is coming. I just don't want to be kept alive by machine or medicine too long.

I think what Minerva means is that maybe you (leedog) had a good chance of survival and wanted to fight for your life instead of give up and die, to be blunt. Therefore maybe the flash only occurs when people are pretty much certain to die but are saved so they remember the experience.

I told my wife, if there is no brain wave. Turn the machines off. I don't want to be remembered that way.

lol Leedog!

I came off my motorbike (on one of my too many lucky occasions). I was sideswiped by a car at 40 mph entering an underpass, I went over the handle bars yet managed to get trapped beneath my bike watching a pair of headlamps descend down on me.

I would not say my life passed before my eyes though, just felt sick with relief when those headlamps did not pass over them.... :D

I am sure I must have a guardian angel though...maybe I have a higher purpose in life that is yet to be revealed... ;)
