Gwalchmai approached Dragon Wench and the stranger, overhearing some of the conversation. "You look familiar to me, as well, though I seem to remember a blindfold.... Also, have you ever dressed in drag and danced with Anomen? :D " Then turning more serious, he said, "This must be your arrow. Very powerful. What do you know about this hole? Where does it lead?"

{OOC: @Gwalchmai-Don't worry,I reedited my post again,so I did fire an arrow :) .Oh, and goodnight :) }

"So, it looks like we may have met before in the past," Brink smiled once more, before speaking," well, it's been a few years since I've actually met someone{OOC: I'm assuming that at least a few years have passed since the beginning of the last thread ;) }".Fearing that he might be misunderstood once again, he quickly added,"Please don't get me wrong; I do occasionally meet adventurers, but those were mostly looking for a way out of this place.What I meant to say was that I've never been to a city for a long time..."

Turning to face the other stranger who was now approaching him with his arrow, Brink replied,"Anomen?Aye, that name sounds familiar....no, I don't recall ever dancing in drag with him, but I think I know now who you people are."With a smile, he looked back at the lady and asked her a question, "Might you be the members of the Dark Flame?"

The lady didn't have a chance to reply when Brink was interrupted by the man once again, this time sounding more serious than before,"This must be your arrow. Very powerful. What do you know about this hole? Where does it lead?"

Brink thanked the man, and began his explanation,"That hole over there is a very dangerous and, I feel, evil place, as you might have guessed from the presence of undead creatures guarding its entrance.Many an adventurer have sought to cleanse the place, yet none has ever return back to the surface once they've descended into the hole...."Brink paused for awhile as memories of the past once again flooded his mind,"....I myself lost my friends when they decided to look for adventure in that hole."

OOC: @ Kramor: ROFL: With my head this size, it's a good thing I'm not wearing a helmet. :D
@ Brink: Welcome to "Days of our Flames", which could soon be "Deep Harem" if Dragon Wench and Vivien have their way... or more to the point, have their way with you. Be afraid, be very afraid... :D

Thantor moved quickly through the rough hewn tunnel that led from his cell area. The screaming was still rather faint, but what he had once thought was a single voice now sounded more like a group. Up ahead, he could see that his tunnel would soon intersect another. He had no idea where he was or where he was going. He pulled back into the shadows, considering his options. As he stilled his mind to allow instinct and intuition to surface, he became aware of shadowy images, like reflections on water. He was confused at first, then remembered that he had activated Mindlink to cause the collar to discharge. Perhaps because the drow had touched him, some remnant of the link had been established. He remained still, studying the images. There was one area that seemed particularly important for some reason. However, since the main priority was finding Anomen, he continued to search for where Anomen and his "fellows" were being held. He eventually pieced together enough information to suggest a viable route and stealthy made his way through what he now realized where a network of tunnels, part of an ancient catacomb. Arriving at the area where he thought Anomen might be held, he stopped to survey his surroundings. There were several things that were disturbing him. First, why was it that the Shadow Master possessed anti-psonic artifacts if he had set a trap for Georgi and not himself? Second, why were the tunnels so lightly guarded? And third, why had the Shadow Master captured and held a number of paladins? He decided to do a bit of reconnaissance before he moved into the cell area. If there were others still alive, it would be senseless to walk them all into heavy resistance or a dead end.

The screams were very loud here, almost a choir of torment. Off to his left, the tunnel sloped downward and he knew this led to the area that had a special interest for the drow mage. Hugging the walls, he slowly made his way down the slope. As he rounded the corner, he saw an entranceway that was guarded by two heavily armed orcs. They were hypervigilant and agitated, perhaps from the screaming, eyes darting everywhere. Then he heard a thud and the sounds of running. "I need some help over here!", came reverberating up the tunnel. The two orcs raced off, seemingly glad to have somewhere to direct their nervous energy. Thantor quickly moved into the entranceway and looked into the adjourning room. As he peered inside, he could see that it wasn't a room at all, but a cavernous pit. The smell was horrendous, and he placed his hand over his mouth and nose as he moved inside to get a better look. As he looked over the edge, Thantor froze in horror. Below him rose a squirming, heaving swamp of bodies, a putrid mass of tortured flesh. The writhing mountain was a throng of plants and creatures -- rotting vegetation, bears, gibberings, carrion crawlers, myconids, goblins, and others so decayed he could not distinguish them. The creatures at the bottom of the heap barely moved, many of them already dead. But the ones near the top screamed and moaned, melted together in freakish agony, hundreds of tortured, dying eyes gazing out into the semi-darkness. Then he saw the human faces and the hands extended, as if begging to be released. Thantor dropped to his knees, nausea washing over him. Collecting himself with difficulty, he darted out of the pit, running back up the tunnel toward the cells, the screams echoing in his ears.

As the antidote took care of the poison, in his system. Darkpoet noticed the burning had faded away on his neck. Slowly, cleaning his swords, he listened to the strangers conversation with Dw and Gwalchmai. He felt uneasy, he didn't know if it was the stranger or something else. He listened to forest, for anything different. Glancing at T'lainya, she was also listening and watching the surrounding area. He noticed something on one of the wraiths, going over to it. Examining it further, it was wearing an Elvin necklace. Pulling it off, he took it over to T'lainya. "Do you reconize this?" Darkpoet asked.

Ooc: Brink, sweetie, you know I would never harm YOU. No need to be afraid ;)

Dragonwench: You get the rope, I'll get the wine ;) j/k :D

Vivien stood a bit off to the side next to Jennabard. Her hands ached slightly from the battle, and she flexed them, trying to get the blood flowing again. One of her fingers, the one bearing the new ring, was itching, and had been for some time now. She scratched at it slightly, but it didn't seem to help. There was also the fact that images were flashing randomly through her head. She couldn't quite figure out what they were, and she wasn't sure if she liked them. The only confused thoughts she wanted running around her head should be hers after all!

She walked over to the hole and peared down, having the urge to kick a pebble down it. She felt a tap on her arm, and saw Jennabard pointing in a different direction.

Walking over, they heard the last part of the newcomers speach, and Vivien couldn't help but wonder if fate would always be so good at lending a helping hand.

Georgi decided that Kramor and Loner needed a little privacy, and explored a little further down the tunnel, rubbing her shoulder. She was starting to feel slightly sick; although it might have been caused by the scene behind her ( :D ), she suspected it was the vileness of this place. Evil seemed to emanate from the walls. The air was thick with the foul stench of decay. A thought entered her mind, and persisted though she tried to push it away. What if we're too late? It's been several days... Thantor could be no more than a rotting corpse by now. She shook her head. Please be alive, Thantor, she thought, hoping that somehow he would know they were on their way.

{OOC@ Brink, don't listen to Thantor, he's attempting to sully our virtuous reputations. Really, with the Dark Flames you'll be in the very best of hands :D :D }

Dragon Wench could not help but smile at the thought of this stranger dressed in drag and dancing with Anomen. She grinned flirtatiously at Gwalchmai, and then directed her attention back to the young man before her.

"Perhaps it would be helpful if you told us everything you know about that hole," she replied thoughtfully.

She paused and weighed up her thoughts.

"If the thought sits well with you, you would be welcome to join us in the exploration of the place. We are currently searching for one of our number. I'm not certain that he is actually down there, but that cave may be connected to his disappearance somehow. You are clearly a skilled bowman, your talents would not be unhelpful"

Vivien smiled at the newcomer to welcome him, twisted the ring around her finger.
An image of Thantor flashed through her head, and she blinked, trying to figure out if the thoughts were just her imagination, or some sort of sign.
Again, Thantor flashed through her head, his head tilted as if listening, his eyes searching past something dark...

Shaking her head she leaned a hand gently on Jennabards shoulder while turning to the others.

"I - I think I know where he is. Thantor. I just have a strange feeling."

Dragonwench turned and winked at her.

"Not like that! I swear I'm not crazy either! But, he's down the hole."

Ooc: Does the ring work like this? Is Thantor down the hole? Is Vivien confused again? Inquiring minds want to know ;)

Gwalchmai saw the look of doubt cross Dragon Wench’s face when Vivien said that Thantor was somewhere down in the hole. He thought she had seemed dubious about their current course, so he took her aside and asked her about it. “I know that Georgi and Loner both have closer ties to Thantor than I, and Vivien is more experienced with the mystical forces, but I just have a gut feeling that Thantor isn’t down there. At least not in any real sense.”

“Maybe the hole and whatever lies beyond will lead us to Thantor,”Gwalchmai said, though Dragon Wench still looked puzzled, “I mean, Thantor may not be in the hole, but going through the hole may be the route we must take to get to Thantor.”

“In other words, everyone is right, and no one is wrong?” she grinned.

“I just think, everyone’s feeling should be acknowldged, because we do not yet know the truth. If you want to proceed another way, I will gladly accompany you.”

“Oh?” she said, arching an eyebrow, “You think I need protection?”

“Hardly. If there is one thing I’ve learned, its that everyone here can take care of themselves. But there’s no reason to strike out on your own.”
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

{OOC: @dragonwench and Vivien-Now, which party should I believe: thantor or you ladies? :rolleyes: :p }

"I would tell you more about this hole..."Brink replied as he stared at the hole,"...but that will take too long a time.I'm sorry for delaying your progress with my presence."Looking back at the party, he sighed, before continuing,"Even if your friend isn't in there, your other friends, the ones who fell in, could be in grave danger."

He then thought of the offer to join the order, but he remembered how the men were treated{OOC: :p }, and decided that he will only accompany them in their search for their friends in the hole.Perhaps, he will stay on after that, perhaps not."I will accompany your party in your search, but I am undecided if I should join your order,"answered Brink as he hung his bow over his shoulder.

(OOC:ROFLMAO :D I'm back to work, feel free to write me in)

T’lainya carefully examined the delicate amulet Darkpoet had found. The workmanship was elvish. The fine chain was fashioned of small interlocking rings of gold. The amulet was an exquisite filigree flower, in the center of each petal rested a pearl. T’lainya stared for a long time. “I recognize the type and probably the maker of the amulet, but I don’t know who might have commissioned it.” She tucked the necklace away in a small pouch and turned to Darkpoet. “Let’s join the others, maybe Jennabard would know more.” Darkpoet smiled and grandly gestured “After you.” T’lainya hid a small grin and sweetly said, “Thank you.” Then she stuck her tongue out at him.
