Order of the Dark Flame (Story, No Spam)
gathering his cloak, the shadow master hissed at the empty chamber. he should have known, with jenna, where there is a will, there is a way.
but he can still stop her. she is slowly fading in the flames. he must either retrieve her or kill the bard. either way, the prophecy must not come to pass. he then picked up his black sword and entered a shadow in the room.
using the cloak's unique qualities he can follow her using the shadows that dwell between the light and the dark.
the cloak seem to come alive in the shadow realm and slowly took the shape of the dark pheonix.

When Kramor arrived back at the ruins, he took care of his horse. Trying to forget, what had happened today. Walking through the ruins, seeing how well preserved, it was. Kramor decided to stay here, clean it up, make it a place of his own.
Going to the room where the skeletons are, standing in the corner. So as he could see both skeletons.
"What happened here? Two bodies and a sealed door. Why?"
He looked at the raven, "You know what happened here don't you?" Kramor sat in the corner, looking at the room. He could tell it wasn't a robbery, too many valuables laying around.
Closing his eyes, he started to look through someone else's eyes. The same as his dream. Kramor's eyes snapped open, looking at the skeleton, then at the raven.
"That's you, you're the spirit of Rai'ya. Damn, why is it when you need Thantor. He is never around."
Kramor headed for the library, looking through some of the books. He tripped a switch, the bookcase opened. Grabbing a torch, he carefully walked inside. As he walked inside, he could see it was a large room. Just as he was thinking, he should be checking for traps, he heard a click. The bookcase closed on him. Next thing he knew was, that he had been thrown into the wall, from across the room. Knocking him out, which probably saved his life. When Kramor fell to the floor, six large spears, imbedded themselves into the wall...............

In only a short while, Georgi, Thantor, Vivien, Gwalchmai, Dragon Wench, Nippy, Loner, and DarkPoet rode from the keep on hasted horses and armed to the teeth. The music swelled as the Magnificent Eight thundered across plains, through forests, and into the valley of Ogre Falls.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

As they rode, Dragon Wench's earlier giddiness began to dissipate; she felt an increasing sense of urgency and she hoped fervently that they had not delayed too long. She then reflected upon the irony of her present mission, that she was riding hard to aid a woman who she had once vowed to vanquish. Again, the old images flashed before her eyes, those final helpless moments. But, rather than experiencing intense pain, she found herself simply wanting to tell Jennabard that it was okay, that she understood.

Viv rode beside the others, and yes, the pounding horses were very majestic and rythmic. The pounding of her inner thighs against the sides of the animal from heck she rode, however, was not quite so majestic. She winced at every downward tilt of her body, all the while wondering why she was a mage. All the others got to wear some form of armor, their legs looked to be nicely protected by steel.
'Stupid horse' was all she managed to think before her teeth began to clank together in rythim with the horse as well.

Nippy felt comfortable. He was surrounded by friends and was doing his duty as a guardian of the flame. They were scrambling off to find Jennabard and rescue her from the shadow master.
His thoughts went to whether this would be the final fight with the shadow master. Would they be able to destroy him?
Nippy decided to ignore these thoughts.
"What will happen will happen."

Perverteer Paladin
When Kramor awoke, he slowly rolled on his back, staring at the spears.
"Pay attention you idiot, you will do no one any good, if you are dead."Kramor thought to himself.
Relighting the torch, he carefully checked for traps. He found two and disarmed with no difficulty. Kramor walked around and lit the large candles in the room. He was amazed at what he saw, the room didn't have a spec of dirt anywhere. The paintings on the wall caught his eye, everyone of the portraits, that had women in them. They all looked like Jennabard, "how could this be?"Kramor thought to himself. His eyes stopped, at the very first portrait. Looking at the painting, he could tell that the man and woman, were very much in love. The woman's jewerly, caught his eye. "Such a terrible death, for a beautiful woman."
Looking at the pictue frame, two names were carved at the bottom.
"Ya'que and Rai'ya"
Looking at the painting and thinking of the raven. Kramor was even more puzzled.
"I wish you could talk, Rai'ya.", he said out loud.
"What makes you think you can't?" A voice said behind him.
Kramor about dropped a load, he didn't hear anyone come in. He slowly turn, his mouth dropped. He closed it twice, but it still fell open. He didn't know what to say, he looked back at the painting and then to the figure standing before him. It was the same woman in the painting. Rubbing the back of his neck, "I hit the wall harder than I thought."
"So paladin, you have a name?"
"Kramor, and you are Rai'ya."
"Ah so, I see you have figured that out." Rai'ya said with a hit of a smile on her lips.
"Why me? Why did you pick me, and show me what had happened to you and your husband?"
Saddness touched her eyes for a second, Rai'ya smiled at Kramor.
"You came back. All the years, I have watch paladins. Come and go, but to never return. You returned and I watched you help your friends, under some difficulties. But, you helped them nonetheless, plus you and your friends. Know my only heir, and she needs your help. You need to bring her here, and protect her. You are the only one, that can unlock the secrets to this place. Now go, and help your friends."
Kramor had to move fast, but thinking of Loner, stopped him. Reaching for the lever to open the bookcase.
"You need to fix the hurt, you should of never left. She really didn't want you to leave."
"Sometimes leaving is for the best."
Ria'ya retorted angerly, "Leaving is for cowards and fools. It has caused nothing, but broken hearts and wars. You need to fix it, but let her go about it in her own way. Now, be on your way and bring my heir home. Before it's too late."
Kramor nodded and left, hoping to catch up with the group.

Noticing that Vivien seemed uncomfortable trying to ride in just her robes, Dragon Wench remembered that she had packed a set of Elven chain mail, and she wondered if her friend would be able to use it. Moving up to where Vivien was riding, she handed the armour to her,
"try this, it still allows me to cast spells," she said smiling. "If you can wear it, it will help ease the chaffing.........and don't forget that after a long ride massage works wonders too."

As Kramor saddled his horse, putting a few provisions in the saddle bags. When he went to get his armour, he remembered.
"SON OF A BIT...." Kramor stopped, he looked up a Ria'ya. She had a funny look on her face, she was amused. Looking into his eyes, the amused look in her face, changed to wonderment. Ria'ya's face paled, "you have his eyes."
"Huh, who's eyes?"
"In time, I will tell you. Where is your armour? Do you plan on leaving without armour?"
"My armour was destroyed, mam. It just accured to me, when you walked in."
A smile played across her face. "Come with me, Kramor." He followed her, to another section of the ruin. He realize, he hadn't seen this part before. "Only you can open the secrets to this place."Ria'ya's voice echoed in his head. Ria'ya stopped and pointed to a set of armour, on a pedestal.
"You can have this, there where only two made. The man who owned this is now long dead."
Kramor walked over to the armour. It was colored with greens and browns, he could feel the magic from it. He looked a the crest, but couldn't figure it out. When he put it on, some of his lingering wounds were healed. It fit perfectly, like it was made for him. Looking up a Ria'ya, "How do I repay for this your Highness?"
Ria'ya's eyebrow went up and she smiled.
"Just protect my heir, you will understand more then."
As Kramor rode away, Ria'ya watched him leave.
"You will understand more, blood of Sir Rex."
As Kramor, got closer to the group, he felt Loner's ki. Then the others, he decided to hold back and follow. He had to think how he was going to approach the group.

Dragon Wench suddenly paused. Were those hoof beats she heard somewhere behind them? She slowed and shifted in her saddle. In the distance a paladin was hesitantly approaching the party. His head appeared bowed and he seemed burdened by an ineffable sadness.

Kramor had been thinking, so intently, he didn't realize how close he was to the group. When he looked up, he saw Dragon Wench, looking at him. Kramor spured the horse, to go a little quicker. When he caught up to DW, he tried to smile, it came out as a grim grin.
"I came to help. Is that alright? You tell me where to go, I'll do it, no questions asked."
He saw Dragon Wench, looking at his armour, with a funny look on her face.

Dragon Wench smiled at Kramor.
"We are likely to have an encounter with the Shadow Master, and something tells me that it won't be for the final time either. Jennabard will need us all if she is to return safely, so your fighting skills will be needed."
After glancing nervously in Loner's direction, she gazed at the armour Kramor was wearing. She had only seen that crest in ancient manuscripts and a chill ran through her when she considered it's implications.
"Um....Kramor, where did you get that armour?"

Oh well...Please insert this in an appropriate spot. This library comp won't let me on page 20...}
When Kramor left the room, Loner's first impulse was to jump up and shout: No, don't go! Don't leave me! But her conscience wouldn't allow it. It would be wrong to ask him to stay with her, when she had betrayed him in her heart. Even for that short time during the ritual, even though she knew the truth.
She heard his footstep going down the hall, and shortly after, a horse galloping away from the Keep. She lay still for a long while, motionless.
Finally she rose and looked about the empty chamber. Kramor's things were gone...but in his haste to leave he had left one of his tunics behind, crumpled up on a chair. Loner picked it up and buried her face in it, inhaling his scent. She sank to her knees on the cold stone floor, weeping.
*****************
She hadn't wanted to go with the others. She knew she would find Kramor where they were going. But Georgi and Thantor had insisted on it, practically dragging her out of the Keep. She wanted to cut off the connection with Kramor, but she couldn't. However far away he was, she could sense him. She didn't know if he still felt the connection as well; she hoped he didn't. It would be better for him to forget.
As they approached the ruins, she could feel his presence so strongly she was overwhelmed. In the past she would have welcomed this sensation, but now it tormented her. How could she face him? She turned to Dragon Wench. "I told you I shouldn't have come," she said, in a shaking voice. At least the blindfold was on, to protect her still-healing eyes from the strong light of the sun. But Kramor's spirit was still part of her, worse than seeing him. And when she heard his voice, her heart seemed to stop. She stayed at the back of the group. She planned to leave at the first opportunity.

"Yes, the other set was destroyed because of it's immense power.....wait a minute, you said Rai'ya gave it to you!!!!"
Dragon Wench reeled.
"When Gwalchmai and I examined those scrolls and journals we saw that crest....it seemed to be associated with Sir Rex.....that it fits you perfectly is.....uncanny."
Then she realised that Loner was aware of Kramor's proximity.
"Er Kramor, I think we should have this converstaion later," she said. Not wanting to be caught in any crossfire, she moved towards the front of the group.
Briefly, she turned around, making sure to catch both Loner and Kramor in her gaze.
"Just remember, Jennabard is our first priority."
