"fine, lets go, i'm sick of standing and gawking at him."
still wary of thantor and very curious about his relationship with loner, jenna began looking through the carnage. never flinching as she look through the twisted bodies of these poor souls. ' well, kramor is certainly not going to like this' she snorted to herself. the hairs at the back of her neck raised in alarm and the air began to chill considerably. 'something is here and watch us.'

After Kramor left the Trademeet. Riding down a trail, he came across the bodies of two men. They were wearing the same clothing, as the other two, that had attacked him. Looking at the wounds, Kramor reconized the handy work, Loner. Kramor slowly followed her trail, but not too close.

OOC: Thantor -- ranger/cleric

Thantor was glad to be on point as it gave him time to process the recent unexpected events. He put a considerable distance between himself and the group so that they could process his rather disruptive appearance if they chose to. His initial impulse, of course, had been to ask them where Loner was so that he could check on her personally. But from the evasive way they had answered his questions, he thought it best to let the matter drop. He found himself becoming irritated with them for allowing jennabard to embark on a dangerous mission in her condition, but then chided himself for his arrogance. Who was he to tell the universe its business? In fact, thinking on it further, perhaps this was not a chance encounter. Perhaps he could prove of value to the group in some small way. This made him feel better and he said a small prayer of gratitude to the All That Is. It crossed his mind, however, that his service to the group could likely be becoming the primary target the next time jennabard had a meltdown.

Putting his musing aside, he turned to the task of finding Anomen. From the previous intelligence that he had gathered, the make up of the party, and the fact that they knew Loner, Thantor quickly realized that he was traveling with the infamous Order of the Dark Flame. He vaguely wondered if he had packed a loin cloth. Given that the members of the party seemed to be sympathetic to Anomen, he wondered if there might be a diplomatic solution to this problem, remembering that diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you can find a rock.

Suddenly, the energy shifted. Cursing himself for not paying better attention, he stealthy circled back toward the group.

"You're losing it, Loner," the young man laughed, his quarterstaff relaxing in his hand. He had bested her, again. Loner rolled her eyes. "All right, all right," she said. "But next time you don't get off so easy."

The two slapped each other on the back and called it a day. They had only been training partners for a few weeks, but already they had developed a bond. Thantor looked on, pleased. They were his two best students, and he was glad they got along. They would both make fine warriors, perhaps even work together, when their training was complete...

*************
Loner woke in tears, shaking. "I'm sorry," she kept saying, sobbing out the words over and over..."Oh all the gods, I'm so sorry..."

As Kramor moved his horse quietly, through the woods. He heard someone sobbing, jumping down, he slowly moved forward. Wincing as he bumped into a stump. He saw Loner, shaking and crying. As he came up behind her, kneeling, he touched her shoulder.

"Loner, are you okay? What's wrong?"

[Thantor - here's some musings on the group at hand...]

Glad to be on the move, Gwalchmai positioned himself close to Vivien. He did this unconsciously, partially because Jennabard had been acting very strangely lately. Perhaps she just missed Anomen, perhaps there was more. She had taken to wearing full chainmail armor, and though it clung to her form in a most attractive way, her attitude was not as open and friendly as she had been before Anomen had ‘fallen.’ She was becoming dark, morose, even abusive at times, like now as she savagely hacked at branches that were in her way. Her voice sounded harsh, where once her melodic tones could sooth a winter’s tempest. Gwalchmai had spent some time with a troop of bards, yet her voice was of a higher quality than any he had heard, and her current transformation pained him all the more.

Georgi stayed near the front of the pack, falling into the leadership role quite naturally - if one could say the Dark Flames ever really needed a leader. Gwalchmai trusted in her leadership, guidance might be a better word, but would trust any of the Dark Flames under almost any circumstances. Her hand rested on the pommel of her Flame Toungue, and her skill with it was reknown. A long bow and quiver full of acid arrows completed her weaponry. Gwalchmai noted with approval that her leather armor had been decorated with magically-enhanced knot work of her own design. The patterns and colors allowed her to use magic while wearing the highly protective armor, and set off the glittering gold flecks of her eyes in a most alluring way.

Gwalchmai regarded Vivien with a new-found admiration. Since recovering from her encounter with the tortuous dryad queen, she seemed more centered, more focused, yet more care-free than before. She even seemed to have gotten over her fleeting attraction for the rouge Waverly. Though Gwalchmai was saddened to see that most of the Dark Flames had given up wearing their ‘School Girl’ Leather Mini Skirts +3 and their ‘Sexy Dryad’ Leather Fringe Halter Tops +5 for more practical attire, he heartily approved of her new Leaf Tunic. The tunic had great protective magics despite the fact that it revealed rather more than even the halter tops had, and its green and orange colors were very pleasing against Vivien’s alabaster skin. She seemed almost as though everything good about Nature had been made human. Gwalchmai found himself thinking of Vivien often. She was more attractive, enchanting even, than ever before.

Gwalchmai and Vivien had recently had the opportunity to work closely together. She helped him to fashion the Bracers of the Demon that he currently wore, made from the hide, claws, and teeth of Fearnog. Normally, a project such as this would have taken him months to complete. He never felt a need to hurry, but Vivien inspired him with her help. Gwalchmai’s life had been unnaturally long, perhaps due to his unknown father’s ancestry, and he had experienced much though aged very little. He had achieved a low officer rank in the Army of the North, and had acquired some skill with a bow. However, the archer ranks rarely allowed one to distinguish oneself, and he sought other professions. He had felt most at home in the Druidical Order of the Orchid in the Forest of Tethir. He had learned the Totemic Ways, but had a passion for exploration. That passion led him to the Dark Flames, and intoxicated by their beauty, he had resolved to serve and help them in any manner possible. Their path and his seemed destined as they strived to balance evil with their good, self with others, hurt with laughter, and he would hope to aid their cause.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Loner heard Kramor's voice, and looked up. "Kramor..." She embraced him, remembering to be careful of his injury. "I told you not to follow me, you stubborn fool..." She was still shaking.

"There are things...you don't know about me, like I said...the memories plague me...I'm afraid to tell you..."

Gently holding Loner's face and looking into her eyes.
"Loner, I am glad I came, you are in no condition to be traveling right now. I want you to tell me, even if it's a little bit. It's tearing you up inside, I can see it in your eyes. You need to talk."

He carefully picked her up and set her on the blankets, then covered her. Kramor went back to get his horse, and tethering it. He went over to Loner, sitting down and held her.

jennabard stopped at her tracks, closing her eyes and trying to breath deeply. the sweat on her brow, trickle down her face. something is here, watching them...watching her...
in her mind, the darkness clawed at her soul, it felt like nails on a chalkboard.

for once, since her resurrection, her nemisis is afraid. and that terrified jennabard even more.

Loner felt better, cradled in Kramor's arms...She took a deep breath, and began:

"You know that I trained in Kara-Tur. But what I didn't tell you was that Lomoro trained me as a kensai." She paused. "I am a kensai.

"When I left Kara-Tur, my training was incomplete, and Lomoro recommended that I study with a great ki master, Thantor. So I did." She began to shake again.

"I...trained with a young man...he was my partner...and one day..."

She forced herself to go on:

"One day when we were training, my power got out of control..."

By now she was sobbing out the words:

"I killed him...I killed him..."

Kramor waited for her to calm down, gently caressing her hair.

"What set you off? Did he hit you or say something, for the burst of power?"

"Kramor, he was the kindest, most gentle person...he did nothing. Nothing. I...I was just riding on the rush of the power...I knew it was too much, I knew...and I didn't bring it down. On purpose. And he dropped dead. I hadn't even touched him..."

"I wish I had been. That would have been better...but he only told me to stay and learn control. How could I? I wasn't worthy of the Way any more.

"So I left on my own. I abndoned everything I had learned. That...was when I met Anomen."

After hearing Anomen's name, Kramor did everything to keep in control.
"So did Anomen help you with anything?"

"I thought so. I thought that I could forget about everything, and I did, for a while."

She looked up at him. "Kramor, I want you to know...anything I ever felt for him...pales in comparison to what I feel for you. You've shown me that I never really loved anyone...before you. I want you to know that."

After hearing that, all he could do is kiss her.
"I have never met anyone like you. I want you to lean on me, I will help you any way I can. I mean that, but you need to tell me, don't hold it inside. Okay?"

Loner nodded. So even after hearing that, he still loved her..."Thank you," she whispered.
