I found out today that my modem is way to crap to bother doing any net gaming on, i am annoied, i suppose i will have to buy a better one

I played AoE on ?? I can't remember the name of the place...Microsoft ran it.

Yes MSN Gaming Zone.

I have never figured what'ping' meant, but It never slowed down while playing. Another thing, don't try playing against someone with a cable modem...

They ran circles around me.

Example: We would type messages back and forth while playing..

Me: Your going to lose.

The other person: Good game , sorry you lost.

2 minutes later, it was over. The cable was fast enough, he could do something and by the time I saw it...too late.

ping refers to the time it takes in millesconds for two computers to respond (i think

) I think i will stick to LAN gaming, much more stable.

Mine might be a piece of junk, someof the others here might know what is the best. I'm willing to replace mine.

Unfortuantely i am not very modem savvy, i need someone to teach me the ropes and hopefully turn me towards the right modem, i heard the US Robotics ones ar ethe best, but they were out of my price range at the time
