Just as Loner was heading back to the room, she saw Georgi and Gwalchmai coming up the stairs and approached them, smiling.

"Well Georgi," she said, "you were right, I made it back alive..."

with shame jennabard looked at the others, "the ruins...it was a place i...died...in. please let me explain!...>sigh<...i was not what you called a very nice person...i fact...i was bloody evil."

jennabard looked at dragon wench with a mornful look. "i'm sorry, dragon, for your loss. i know i...was the cause of it. my memory is still fuzzy...like some one tried to earse me. but now the darkest part of my soul...has been unleased due to the order playing around in the ruins. now i must contend with it... if you wish i'll leave, i don't want to be a burden, much less a danger to anyone. i've never been close to anyone before and i don't want to lose you all because of me."

with that revelation, jennabard quickly left the room.

Georgi's face lit up, and she hugged her friend. "Loner! It's been too long..."

She thought for a moment. "Actually, it hasn't been long at all, but it feels like forever, so much has happened... I knew you'd make it... and I presume you brought our errant knight back as well?"

Dragon Wench frowned, "No Jennabard we all need to stay together. Everyone has a past, we can't go back to change it, but the present and the future are ours."

Loner led Georgi and Gwalchmai back to the room where Dragonwench and Jennabard were talking, and they pulled up chairs. The ladies smiled to see Gwalchmai back in good health, and continued their conversation...

Loner's face clouded when Georgi mentioned Anomen. "Yes, we brought him back," she said. "He is at the High Hall of the Radiant Heart...Georgi, come and sit down, there is much to tell you..."

Loner related her adventure in the alternate plane -- again, leaving out the detail of Kramo. She told her, as sensitively as she could, what they had learned of Anomen's gambling and conspiring to break up the Harem. "Sir Ryan and Sir Keldorn will determine his fate," she concluded. "Needless to say...it's over, for me."

jennabard hugged dragon and said," no, maybe when this over. lets just say that i made a choice and here i am, alive again. i will fight for all of that is good in this world, that was the promised i made for my life. lets see to vivien and with us together again, we will over come our enemies."

Dragon Wench eyed Loner and Georgi. "I have arranged for the ORH to take care of Anomen's needs for some time to come, they will keep him and try to heal him for however long we require."

Loner began turning red to the roots of her hair. "That's twice in one day," she thought...

"I...that's good," she said. "I hope they can cleanse his heart. But...I...can't...it's still over."

Thinking she had never sounded so lame, Loner sat there mutely, staring at the table.

"No! No!" Loner cried at Jennabard's remark, fairly jumping from her seat. "If you will still have me, I have no intention whatsoever of leaving all of you."

She turned to Georgi. "Darkpoet is here, as well as Kramo. Kramo was injured badly; he's resting in the other room. Vivien...Vivien was possessed by a dryad. Dragon Wench called for a priest and he's done what he could; we'll have to wait now..."

"Perhaps it would be best for everyone to get some rest?" suggested Georgi, observing the tired eyes that surrounded her. She smiled reassuringly at Loner. "I don't blame you, sister... But it matters little. The Harem is about much more than Anomen now."

"Indeed," Loner agreed, and bade everyone a good night.

She returned to the room and found Kramo sleeping soundly. Her head was pounding; she had no idea how late it was, and so much had happened...Well, she hoped everything would be clearer in the morning. She spread out her bedroll on the floor, and fell asleep.

I'm off to bed too...)

Georgi lay awake in her bed until the early hours, turning the problem over and over in her mind... But the more she thought about it, the stronger her doubts grew. She was a liability. Her presence would put the other ladies... not to mention their slaves, she thought fondly, then angrily brushing the thought away... in danger. No, it would be the best thing for everyone if she left.

She noiselessly slid out of bed, and threw on her clothes. She supposed she ought at least to leave a note. Grabbing a piece of parchment, she scrawled across it...

My apologies dear sisters, but I can stay no longer. I fear my presence imperils you all. Do not come after me... it is better this way. The best of luck to you all. I know you will triumph.

She thought for a moment. Of course, that wouldn't stop them coming after her, she knew...

I am grateful for all the times you have saved my life, but if I suspect any of you of following me, I will not hesitate in taking it myself.

Leaving it on her bed, she slipped out of the back of the inn, and melded away into the night....
