There ARE rules to follow to determine if it is a prime number.

1.) If it is an even number, it is composite.
2.) If it ends with 5, it is composite.
3.) Add up all the digits and if the sum is divisible by 3 it is composite.

That usually wipes out most of them. The 17x13 ones might be a bit tricker, though...

It's egghead-speak for an integer that isn't a prime number. Go here for an English definition.

Well, Zero is my hero (but not a positive integer), Nine is naughty but not prime, Seven is lucky, I'm not ready for Five, and Eleven will always be a friend of mine . . . but on this one, I've got to go with Georgi and say Three.

A man and a woman had a little baby,
Yes, they did,
And there were three in the family,
That's a magic number.

LOL :D

I don't suppose you know who the original of that song is by? I know the De La Soul version that samples it, and I've heard a cover that one of my favourite bands plays at gigs, but not the original... ;)

@Aleldar the original, and now the only, I think you'll find :p :D :p

There is a fantastic cover of Three is a Magic Number by Blind Melon on the Schoolhouse Rocks! Rocks CD that has some other good recordings.

The writers for Three is a Magic Number were Bob Dorough and Tom Yohe and I think Dorough may also have been the singer, but I'm not sure about that.

Hahaha, looks like 3 is winning...

I still like 23 though. Probably because my favorite day is 23 December. The day when everyone decides to make that last choice to put off Christmas shopping until 24 December.
