(I'll eat Yshanias cake anyway - it's delicious, and I'm a fast metaboliser so it's difficult for me to gain weight even if I want to.)

Body-Mass Index is a useful statistic for assessing populations and individuals. My wife often uses it in her work, along with many other physical measures of her subjects. There is a strong correlation between high BMI and certain health problems, but it is a statistical correlation, not a certainty.Originally posted by Vivien:

Hmm..but these numbers mean nothing, right?They are just another way to say we're all great

@Weasel: My wife has been calculating my BMI for years, usually with an accompanying "tsk, tsk”. I don't need you to start harping on me too....
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Ok. *Throws CE a large steak and a bowl of porridge*
Does not go that well together but with a glass of orange juice you should absorb all the iron, those proteins will fuel the muscles, and the complex carbohydrates should give you slow release energy necessary for sustained exercise

Well, in the spirit of Weasel's signature, I would like to sell off some of my BMI to those who need it more than I. For the low, low price of $19.99, you can go up a whole point in BMI! Act Now! Supplies are limited!

A recalculation showed that I'm not underweight after all, I just made an error in the transformation between kg and lbs. My correct BMI would be something like 19.5Originally posted by Yshania:

But I still need to gain some of the muscle mass I've lost the last year - so I'll have the steak and porridge anyway - I'm always hungry

@Sleep: Suppressing information, are we</STRONG>
Yep...I'll give everyone an example using the "metric BMI formula"...:
I'm 1.83 m tall...
My weight is 76 kgs...
1.Now take my length 1.83 and multiply it with itself i.e 1.83x1.83 = 3.3489
2.Now take my weight "76" and divide it by the number I aquired by multiplying my length with itself i.e 76/3.3489 = 22.694019
See...it's not that hard...
