Dream date from another perspective
Dream date from another perspective
Inspired by fable's thread, I thought I'd ask this question from a more descriptive point of view:
Describe what kind of person you dream date would be and how the date ideally would turn out.
What would s/he be like? Looks? Interests? Personality?
What would you be doing? Dance all night? Have an intimate dinner with intense discussions? Go for a skydive?

About 5'8", shoulder length auburn hair, fit, avergae, umm, 'bosoms' (
). She would be energetic, smart, and empathic, to a sense. She would be able to debate world issues, and historical issues, but also be able to have a fun time without being one of those goofy people who just look dumb trying to. She would have her own flaws as well, like being a little too intelligent at times, or a little too dependant sometimes. And she would have to apprecite both good literature, and music, none of this dance crap.
Lastly, the date itself would end up being one of those cliche dates. Dinner, a movie, then a long walk along a pier of beach into the waning hours of the night.
@CE: So, you free next weekend?

About 5'6', a very dark dirty blond with maybe some slight blonde highlights, athletic. Shed be simpathetic, caring, but still tomboyish enough to put my butt on its floor if i did something wrong. Shed be serious in public, but a real goof when were alone. Pretty intelligent, this girl would would have a few flaws. Maybe, a smartass some fo the time, or likes pop music.
Idealy, the date would be out to some park at night where we could eat under the moonlight, and then take a walk. Then maybe even hit a party afterwards.
Any ladies like this idea?

It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.

Now that's a love poem if I ever heard one.

I don't really have an agenda about what someone I would be attracted to would look like. There are many "beautiful people" who are not attractive. To me, attractiveness is based on a person's ability to love life, love others, and love themselves. Physical characteristics are secondary, though the ability to shapeshift into a wolf would hold a certain allure.
I like women who are strong, intelligent, honest, curious, compassionate, and playful. I look for a certain depth and integration of personality as well as a certain charismatic spirit, what the Chinese call Shen. A unique perspective and an appreciation for a spiritual dimension are attractive to me, as are a capacity to be passionate and uninhibited. Given my interest in health care, a personal commitment to health on all levels would be important to me. That and a pulse.
I have never really thought in terms of a dream date, since I probably felt unconsciously that carrying such an image would put too much intellectual clamp on an experience that is rather mysterious and instinctual. But in considering it, I would have to say that, for me, a dream date would not be the first date. And, no, I'm not someone who holds out for love at first sight, any more than I would organize my life around winning a lottery. To me, a dream date would be an experience with someone I was already intimate with. It would be in a romantic setting, one that would be both new and anticipated by both of us, and it would be at night. It would be a sensual and comfortable environment where would could explore any number of experiences together. But I think what would truly make it a dream date would be to break through to a new level of intimacy. This doesn't happen all that often in a relationship, but when it does it is both thrilling and alchemical. I can think of nothing more exciting or magical.

Dream Date. Again as i always answer these questions, i don't really think that i have one, there is ideas and thoughts, but to specify so specifically before i really have the necessary experience seems somewhat pointless to me *shrug*
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.
Complete opposite of me.

I am walking through a forest or jungle in the mountains (a very benign forest or jungle - no chiggers, ticks, snakes, pirana, etc.). Perhaps I am on survey, exploring the wild untracked wilderness. I come upon a secluded stream, with a large pool of clear, warm water, under a gentle waterfall. Sitting on a rock in the sun is a woman, reading a book. The book is nothing too obtuse (who is she trying to impress?) yet not a cheap, trashy novel, either (why waste her time?). She sees me and smiles a broad, inviting, disarming smile. She is lovely to gaze upon, though her features are not specifically describable. Her hair is long or short, blond or red or brown or deepest black. Her skin is clear and unadorned. Her body looks good, but the specifics are best left to chance. Small breasts, large breast - they don’t matter so long as everything is put together right. It only matters that she is fit, and not unnatural. I have seen too many women who look as though they have been subjected to Doc Waverly’s Evil Chamber of Plastic Surgery. Her clothing is comfortable, loose, attractive, and somewhat revealing. We sit, discussing the book she was reading, pointing out unusual birds, and talking. She is attentive and appreciative. She is also intelligent enough not to hang on my every word, and she gently points out my mistakes. When she talks, she says things that keeps my interest without going way over my head. We laugh - she has a good sense of humor, and understands mine (this woman obviously doesn’t exist). We swim in the pond, splash in the waterfall, and lie upon the sand. Her eyes sparkle when she looks at me. I feel appreciated and accepted for who I am. I have no other inclination but to appreciate and accept her for who she is. We part in time to make it our respective destinations before nightfall, and promise to meet again.....
This would be my fantasy date, though its not really a date....

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
I think you have a sense of humor that is quite enjoyable. So perhaps such a woman really does exist.Originally posted by Gwalchmai:

My "dream date" would start off with doing something funny and slightly silly that none of us had done before. Could be anything from going to an exhibition of sex toys to taking a trial lesson getting back into a kayak when you're in the water. Something that makes you laugh! After that, a dinner at some place suitable for intimate conversation would be nice. We would discuss anything from deep personal things to world politics, arts and science. I would like to get a general picture of his values, his passions and his views of himself, other people, life and the world.
After all the talking, some physical activity is called for - we'd go dancing at some smaller club. I would have the opportunity to watch his body moving (yes, call me a sexist)
Chilling of with a nightly walk in some beautiful place, a beach or a park, would be a perfect ending of the night...or perhaps not really the end...
@Gwally: Sounds great! Reminds me of how I met one of my ex in the middle of nowhere under the volcanoes in Iceland. He was hiking, I came riding on a horse, totally covered with lava dust. That was the beginning of a beautiful long distance relationship lasted for several years.
