Hate Spam
I would like to draw attention to what I notice is a disturbing trend that is growing.
Abusive Spam!
My humble opinion, based upon my recent observation (which admittedly may be wrong) is that the carefree attitude sometimes gets misplaced.
Now I am not an agressive person by heart, but the way I see it, is that in most cases no-one here will ever meet/talk to over the phone etc anyone else on this board so getting upset about what someone does or doesn't say/do is pretty useless and adds unwanted stress upon both sides.
Surely we are all adults and can respect another persons opinion even if we disagree with it without falling to base name-calling or whatever.
Spam is fine if done in a light hearted way but one must ensure understanding of ones intentions in an easily recognised way by people who are reading the threads (I would guess that is what smilies are for, No?). When talking this is easy but much harder when typing on a keyboard to someone who may/maynot understand english and it's translation of slang etc easily.
So this thread is not a put down on anybody, just a kindly request to lighten up in the way one reacts to spam that may be percieved or not as offensive.
I would gather Buck made this forum so all lovers of CRPG/RPG's etc can have a community that enjoys and can discuss they're loves/interests in this field. Not for it to degenerate into ego bashing/building.
So if someone rubs you up the wrong way, let it wash off your back like water off of a Duck's. If you are really offended, tell that person, hopefully they would apoligise (Something I rarely see) and you can both move on.
Remember, this is a PUBLIC forum, not anyone's private domain, so lets enjoy what Buck and Co. have provided and have a HAPPY FORUM, with "Happy Spam".
Yours'
Mr Snow.

No generally I agree with you, people that take things personally or always take things litterally should get a life (not stateing that I have one

I agree with you, Mr Snow.
Many people noticed I hardly post in the any serious topic in the forum anymore. I realised many people don't want to appreciate others' opinion, or even don't want to listen to them in the first place. I learned that in the hard way, and decided not to give my opinion in the serious topic. We have 2,500+ registered members here, and, after all, I cannot say I trust all of you here. It is a shame, but I don't give my opinion to people who doesn't appreciate it, whether he/she agree or not.
This is, therefore, a rare occasion I give my opinion, and hope people read this and think a little.
Thanks.

I only ever intentionally 'flame' Waverly and Grunt, there are many reasons for this- mostly because they deserve it (
) - they mutually 'flame' me, i do not in any way support flaming, but it can be funny between two people who are just messing around.
If i have in anyway humbled a member of GB then i apologise, they can quite freely PM me and we will sort out our differences.

I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.
@Sleep: I like to think we all know the difference between a jocular flame, and Flame with a capital ‘F’. The former is a good-natured diversion which I admit to practicing frequently. The latter is against forum rules for good reason. There is the same difference between what we jokingly call spam and the awful sales and marketing drek that litters our mailboxes. Oh, and BTW, your sig makes *no* sense. I insist you change it.
@Minerva: It’s a shame you refrain from sharing your opinion, as I enjoy your unique perspective. It’s true some people blur the line between argument and discussion, or don’t recognize the point at which it’s wisest to acknowledge that more than one opinion is valid. Hopefully you haven’t found me to be one of these people and will make another attempt to share your thoughts.

Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time
I am not sure about this. Jocular flaming is a laff - we all know it, even Waverly's thick skull understands that (see - wasn't that funny
).
Is that what Mr Snow is referring to? On the other hand, if you go to the BG2 forum (been there lately?) people pop up time and again "My sorcerer is great and no-one need ever bother picking another character - love me, love me, love me, whine, whine, whine".
These people deserve flaming too.

Spamming is healthy. It promotes the regular distribution of the bodily humours, increases circulation, revives regularity, and keeps the bowels from tightening beyond recognition. It lubricates, allocates, medicates, explicates and detoxicates. It is the elixir vital that restores youth, even as it grants wisdom beyond their years to the children of our hearts.
Spamming is conversation; it is humanity. Don't confuse it with vile attempts to reach a posting plateau! Healthy spam circulates between at least two people. Keep that in mind, and may you manufacture and disseminate spam for your long lives, my friends!

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Now I'm getting nostalgic
This looks a lot like the "old days"

@Waverly: I never found it difficult to give my opinion to you. People like you, T'lainya (sorry) and Gruntboy do flame, but also know *when* and *how* to flame. I cannot say same thing to some others.
