The BG/IWD manual has most of the basic equipment listed, so that should be no problem.
I wonder, though: what is your intention? You've got no one to play with, as far as I know, and 2nd Edition is quite hard to find a forum-based game for. Is it just for fun? If so, why limit yourself to one edition? (I read about several gaming systems at once, for example.)

I have got some people in mind who I will gather up the courage to propose giving D&D a chance.GawainBS wrote:The BG/IWD manual has most of the basic equipment listed, so that should be no problem.

1. My brother Tom. He is a "package deal" because I know that if I get some of our other friends in on it, he will get in on it too.
2. My friend Josh. He's really the only friend I have that comes around much to hang out. He may react with a "Wow, that's gay, f*** that man" but he might just react with "Sure I guess" and knowing Tom is in on it too would convince him further.
3. My girlfriends brother and his cousin. They are actually the ones that got me a foot in the door into role playing and evidently they still do. But they play something called Mage or something. If I were to play with them, chances are none of my other friends would come along, they're not involved with my friends/family at all. We have a little bit of bad blood though, since my GF had left me at one point and some drama ensued... blah.
4. Josh's brother Tony wouldn't be much inclined to play, but he's definitely more open minded about these sort of things than Josh. [Josh is sort of a *I'm a meathead hardass* kinda guy, but underneath it all, there's the huge nerd I've known my entire life lol].
5. Josh, Tony, and Toms friend Matt, [I don't really associate with him much outside of Josh Tony and Matt] his wife [Who always wants people to come over and play board games], and their friend Ben [Who is an all around cool guy].
6. My friend Kevin who I grew up with in school. We don't talk much at all anymore, but if I give him a holler, he'll probably be up to it.
So I've got a decent pool of people I can try to get together, but honestly, only a few of them are the role-playing type. The rest would probably just jerk off and act random the whole time like "Hey, what if I stabbed this guy in his ear and f***ed his brains out!".
It's still a far cry trying to gather more than 2 of them for this though... and keeping them interested long enough to finish a campaign would also be a feat of it's own.
I'd rather have a group of people who are all genuinely into D&D, but those kinds of people are just myths around here lol.
