Yeah, so, uh, I didn't see any other discussion topic about this and I felt compelled to ask. Will IGN's announced acquisition of UGO impact GameBanshee at all? This inquiring mind wants to know. :D

Good question, hopefully we'll soon get an answer. Just pray it doesn't inform us that GB's forums are to be merged into IGN's forum. It wouldn't surprise me if that happens given how little traffic we get here these days.

GameBanshee isn't owned by or affiliated with UGO - I just serve their ads and they pay me a paltry sum based on the number of impressions served. So unless IGN mandates that UGO stop providing advertisements to third parties, this shouldn't affect the site one bit.

I agree, that is good to know. Thanks for the reply Buck. I knew GameBanshee wasn't owned by UGO but I wasn't sure how the relationship worked between GameBanshee and UGO.

I'm interested in seeing how this whole thing turns out. My guess is 1UP won't survive.
