Is it possible to get to the Silent King and if so, could some one please point me in the right direction?
I've talked to everyone and everything in the place. Even talked to some more after Stale Mary taught me how to talk to the dead. I've done everything I can for Hargrimm, "killing rats", exposing Soego (that took some thinking to figure out) and all he tells me is I'm free to go and will now heal me.
I even tried killing the Royal Guards (Big Mistake) all that got me was a message telling me I needed a key and it pissed off every dead thing in the place (thank god for saved games):laugh:
Any way, I've been fooling around in this area for over 4 hours real time, so would appreciate any help.
Thanks Sonny

Near the area of stale mary is a portal. It's in one of the "doors" in the room where she is. The third of one or so, don't remember really. Anyway, stand there for a while and you'll get dialogue to go there. You first have to ask her about the silent king before you can go.

Thanks, tried that but it did not work. There are three archways in the room. One was empty and the other two had skeletons standing in them. Stood in the empty one for 15 min real time. and stood as close as I could get to the other two and stood, but nothing happened, and Mary still won't talk about the King. Wonder if it has any thing to do with TNO stats.

I'm afraid you have to have 16 charisma to get that topic. Although... Did you ask the necromancer to give you an audiance with the silent king in exchange for killing the rats? Never tried that, since I always have enough charisma, but maybe it'll work. You could always kill everybody.
SPOILER
Don't forget to take one of the heads you find on either the necromancer or the silent king.
I found this on a pretty good walkthrough.:
Kill the rats for Hargrimm but don't ask him to speak to Silent King, then return to Mary and do the same as in step 2 (3750+3750+7500 exp), also requires 16 CHR.
1. Kill some cranium rats for Hargrimm and then ask him to speak to the Silent King on your behalf (3750+7500 exp). Details;
2. After Hargrimm refuses to help you, ask Stale Mary to let you see the Silent King (3750 +7500 exp), this one requires 16 CHR;
I don't think you can get to the silent king without fighting.

OK, this may not be possible, but I hate to leave this thing undone before moving on to the Drowned Nations.
I have a tattoo "Tattoo of Presence" that will raise my Charisma to 14, and if I remember right, I thought I saw a tattoo at Fells that would raise your Char +2. If you can wear them both that would be a Char. of 16. Can I go back and get it and still come back to this point with out screwing any thing up.
If this is not possible, is the key I need for the door where the Royal Guards are in this area? And does killing them effect my Good Alignment. The key was not on the guards when I killed them before reloading a save earlier.
Thanks Sonny

Yes Sonny, you CAN go back to Fell and get more tattoos and they WILL stack.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that. I figure it's a lot better to do that then try to get the key from Hargrimm, because I can't get a key topic when I talk to him, which means I have to kill him and if killing the Royal Guards made everyone come after me, I can only image the same would happen if I off Hargrimm.
I know I'm probably making to much out of this, but I just got to see what this Silent King thing is all about
Thanks again

Well that did not work. I went to Fells and got the tattoo's, but Mary will not tell me anything about the King.
The only thing I can figure is that after you do Hargrimm's quest and are told you are free to leave, then that means you can not get Mary to give you the option to see the King?
I have a saved game right before entering the Catacombs, so I'm just going to reload that saved game, get the tattoos and then do the Catacombs
All this because I just can not leave things go that I've learned about. Just drives me crazy not knowing what I may have missed
Thanks

As far as raising your charisma, a much more potent way is to cast the Friends spell as a mage. This can get you up to 8 points of charisma. Assuming you've learned how to be a mage from Mebbeth by now, and bought the spell Friends from her, of course, which is pretty much the first thing I do in any game upon exiting the Mortuary
But yes, you are correct, once Hargrimm tells you you can leave, you can't visit the SK via Stale Mary anymore. Best way to do it is to get right up to the point in Hargrimm's quest line where you've dealt with Soego and he's -willing- to let you go, but instead of asking him to let you go, talk to Stale Mary instead.
Found myself in this predicament as well. I visited the Dead Nations first, then visited the Thought Warrens. I had therefore already done both of Hargrimm's quests before I visited Many As One and accepted that quest.
Once I found myself stuck and unable to get anywhere near the Silent King (I figured I could probably get in by attacking the guards but didn't want to do that). Trying what seemed liked every conceiveable option I checked the walkthrough. I have now tried talking to Stale Mary and as outlined above get non-responses when I ask about the SK. My Charisma is only 10 but it sounds like even if I bump it, it will be of no use. Can I complete the MAO quest and regain that memory if I fight my way in to the SK? Hate to do that though. Is there any big negative effect if I don't complete that quest?
