I just got MOTB and I'm in the very first town and following the walkthrough into the Veil Theatre. I'm on my third attempt to kill the very first red wizard in the first room but keep getting hit with a "dazed" status. In the OC, these were short lived but thusfar in MOTB it seems to be a permanantly incapacitating status as it never goes away. The wizard you start with as a companion doesn't have any "remove daze" spells (I don't think) so I'm at a loss on what to do.
(edit) also, anything I can do to avoid getting disarmed? That's certainly new as I didn't experience that in the OC.
MOTB: Dazed status (possible spoilers)

If it's truly perpetual then it's a bug.Ragin Cajun wrote:I just got MOTB and I'm in the very first town and following the walkthrough into the Veil Theatre. Immunity to mental effects via equipment, the mindblanks (lesser and regular), or even usually Protection from Evil will also work.
Disarmed is a real problem - and a legitimate one. Carry extra weapons or use two-handed weapons.

They were right..that build will take a while to kill anything early on for sure. Starting level 15 with the three level penalty. Dodging tons of hits but doing between 2-9 points of damage per hit when I hit..lol. That dazing is crazy. The wizard NPC died and my fight took about 15 minutes. I was dazed about 10 minutes of that. Thank goodness I can drink potions even dazed.
Really it's a fantasy build.Ragin Cajun wrote:I'm trying out that kame no kaza build so have to use the small weapons..lol. Seemed to spend most of my fight picking up weapons..lol.

It's whole supremacy is based on the *maximum* enchantment damage, which is something you won't have until 2/3rds of the way into MOTB. Even it's item based AC modifiers (via Wisdom and Intelligence) are unlikely to be maxed early-on (i.e. +8 in both).
There are MUCH better builds available - at least for most of MOTB, and certainly for the OC.

(..do you have SOZ installed?)Ragin Cajun wrote:any suggestions for a good melee build? Used a wizard for the OC and while I was stopped at the last spot of the OC for now I figured I'd start the next module for MOTB.
Depends on what you want..
Dual Weapon, Two-handed Weapon, or Unarmed Attack?
Do you want it good at any MOTB level? (..or can you wait a few levels in-game before it gets good?)
IMO the best class overall for MOTB isn't melee.
Still, you can get a rather good melee-type build for MOTB.
