Gems???

I have a whole bunch of different gems....I have kept them because I thought that they might be used for something, but now I am not so sure....can someone help me.

You can use some types of gems later on in the game for something, but I generally just sell them off. It's too much of a pain for me to keep my inventory loaded down with stuff like that. Spoiler follows if you really want to know what they are used for.

gems can be contributed to your dwarven allies after you get them to honor the treaty. To be honest though, I never found contributions all that useful, so I sell the things to clear the inventory space.

Just make sure to keep 10 garnets, they are used in an actual sidequest that unlocks another sidequest as well.
