Blue Screens on games.

Post by Sain »

Ok, I removed a malware called Antivirus Live from my computer, everything is going fine in pocket-tanks, but when I start up DA:O, BAM! Blue screen. I tried again, blue screen. This time, however, Windows was kind enough to give me this message...

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 1000007f
BCP1: 00000008
BCP2: 80193000
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 00000000
OS Version: 6_0_6002
Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini012310-01.dmp
C:\Users\Ian\AppData\Local\temp\WER-92898-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Ian\AppData\Local\temp\WERE906.tmp.version.txt
I'm really at a loss at what to do. I looked at the files, but that didn't help. Couldn't see a big arrow saying "This is your problem, idiot."

The "Blue Screen of Death" (if that's what you mean) usually denotes either driver problems or faulting hardware issues.

If DA:O is the only program giving you problems, I'd try for a reinstall to begin with. Perhaps on another drive if you have the possibility but definitely another folder.

And try some additional different free AntiVirus/Anti-malware software to make sure your machine is clean.

Well, I used Malwarebytes to remove my virus, so I'm safe. And yes, it didn't BSoD on Witcher, Total war, or Pocket Tanks, so I'll try a reinstall.

*Edit-Didn't work, do you have any other ideas*

Could be drivers that need a reinstall/update.

It could also be a heat problem, does the BSOD comes immediately or after sometime ? Try checking the Graphic card fan for dust.
