Hi!
I've just started to explore Watcher's Keep again, and when I
place the Book, the Bell and the Candle on the altar of Helm, a
dialogue should appear. But it doesn't. =S
I tried to re-enter the room several times and place the things on
the altar again, but it didn't help.
I've finished the game a few times before, but this kind of bug never
happened. Also, I've got the latest patch installed.
Watcher's Keep lvl1 bug - Please Help!
Are you sure it's the right book, it should be the purple one IIRC, I do recall having the same experience once, and it was because I was using the wrong one.

I had this issue with TOB just recently. I think its some sort of action inititive that thet game doesn't start. This same thing would happen to me at level one and if I played through the game into TOB none of the badies would actually attack me they just turned red and stood there. I couldn't figure it out but installing the G3 fixpack did make it go away. I hope this helps.
The sequence as I remember it is forst time you open the alter the two nearest statues come to life, after killing them you get Foebane.
In the room with the bed and two golems, when you click on the bed a lich (The Librarian*) appears, you either give him the slippers or kill him. You then click on the bed again and get the correct sequence (spoiler:).
You then place the three items in the alter, gong sounds, and you get to enter the sequence, other statues come to life, mayhem ensues.
OK, clarification over. If that's the sequence you've fllowed, roughly, and no gong sounds when you put the items in, or nothing happens after the gong, then it would seem somewhere a global has been set incorrectly, or not set at all. If you can attach a copy of your game save on here, then one of us can check it for you. Far easier maybe than you posting the contents of your global variables list, assuming you have3 Shadow Keeper to start with. You'll have to zip the save folder first of course.
* He can't really be the Librarian of course because he looks nothing like an Orangutan!

I tried a comparison with one of my parties in a similar position in WK, couldn't do a like for like comparison as I've never got to ToB without completing the first level.
I couldn't find anything that may have sorted the solution, so have tried this. I used CLUA console to move your party to the second level of Watcher's Keep, saved it there and have uploaded a copy of the save here. I have added the items you would have picked up by killing the statues, and the XP (100,000 for the statues, 25,000 each for opening the portal) I divided up equally among the party.
Strange collection of NPCs for an evil character you have there, and Minsc and Analman in the same party, yuck!

Whoa, thank you very much!
I didn't even notice, that my main char turned evil, this must be because
the decisions i made back in hell. -.-
You mentioned Minsc and Anomen being in the same party:
I prefer having close-combat fighters in my party, and for a good-
aligment party, they are just perfect.
Again, thank you very much for your help!!

Glad I could help. I suspect that the problem may have stemmed from leaving the three items in the alter in SoA and then transitioning into ToB. Assuming you did leave them there in SoA.
I noticed that when I took them out, as soon as I placed one of the items back into the alter the gong sounded, but no dialog box opened. Something maybe we should all be aware of, don't leave the three items in the alter.
Of course I am assuming you left them there in SoA, if you didn't then ignore the above.
