Sloth Demon
Sloth Demon
OK, when you finally get to the showdown the the Sloth Demon....how many times do I have to kill this guy???? I keep beating him down and he just pops back up again with a full complement of hit points.

If I recall, he will get up three or four times. The different forms the sloth demon assumes have the same strengths and weaknesses as the creature itself so use that to your advantage. The lyrium pools (or whatever they are) refill with each form so be sure to take advantage of that as well. And spread out your group when facing spell casting forms to avoid area of effect spells.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
Five times I think...4 in different "elemental" forms, and one in his regular form! If you keep Wynne and her mass heal around, you shouldn't have many problems!

This was tough, I'm a duelist rogue and had sten, shale, and morrigan. I had my greatest success when I switched my rogue and sten to ranged weapons and kept shale face to face with morrigan adding various freeze/stun/direct damage. Having the rogue, sten, and shale all in melee just got the party slaughtered as the area effect spells were ruining me.Elevoros wrote:Five times I think...4 in different "elemental" forms, and one in his regular form! Truly? If I recall correctly, playing on Hard difficulty I just adopted the Golem shapeshift and wailed on the Sloth Demon. I'd quick switch out to my normal body to heal up, but I never found it necessary to counter his own alternative forms by taking another shape.

Ditto. Well, save for the occasional Burning man/fireball at my feet thing, but that was more because it was incredibly cool to blow myself up like that. I spent a good half hour just doing that after I got that form.Aqua-chan wrote:Truly? Except I wasn't a show off playing on Hard difficulty.

But really, there's no point in trying to coordinate your shapeshifts to match the weaknesses of the Sloth Demon's alternate forms. Just pick up on the Golem, hammer on Sloth until your health gets a bit low (with +300 health, you should be able to take a beating), then switch out to something like your normal form or, better yet, Burning Man. A well-placed fireball will stall for time while your mage heals you up (if you have a healer on hand, which you should.
