Circle Tower Stat Boosts (spoiler)

Post by Revi »

I've played through the Circle Tower twice now, and have discovered all the stat boosts in the Fade dream. But I forgot to write down how much of each stat you actually get. Has anyone recorded this? It could be handy to know when building new characters.
You now bear the awesome responsibility of the Metal "Unit". Gussets of wind, seams like reality, pockets of resistance, the seat of power, and legs as flared as your temper. Polish it well; the onus is now on you.

I thought exactly the same, so I wrote them down :)

Strength - 4
Dexterity - 4
Willpower - 4
Cunning - 5
Magic - 2
Constitution - 2

The good thing is that it gives you enough Cunning so you don't need to invest points in it to have access to all the Skills.

I'm there right now for the first time. Is that right? 21 points to ability scores for the protagonist, that's seven levels worth of points. Based on that, its got to be recommended to go here first. Ironically, it is one of my (what appears to be) last stops in the game.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

It was the second place I went to, after Redcliffe.

21 points is right.

I went there second after Redcliffe as well, but the stat boosts are so useful, its easily the first place to go from now on.

I'm playing the game as rogue/assassin and have now finished the fade in the circle tower. I found all the stat boosts but my magic and willpower don't appear to have gone up. Unless, these particular stat boosts are similar to leveling up where grabbing them won't cause the ability score in the character view screen to turn green (i.e. modified)

None of the ability bonuses from the Fade turn any of your stats green.

Ah! Yes, that's good to keep in mind. Thank you, EvilEdwin! ;)

I feel kinda sorry for the PC's companions, though. I mean, you emerge from the Fade 21 points stronger, while they're still the same. I guess it's their own fault, though, staying trapped in their silly little nightmares... the unenlightened fools.

Has anyone actually checked their companions before and after? You never know what they found in their dreams :p

It might be best not to know what goes on in the dreams of some of these characters. Zevran's case comes to mind in particular. :D

I always seem to miss out on one of the Strength and one of the Constitution points. I'm about to hit the Circle in the near future, so I guess it would be pertinent to keep notes of exactly where these things are. Once I get through it I'll share.

I didn't note exactly where each stat was in each particular area, but I did note which stats were in each area:

Strength
-Mage Asunder x2
-Darkspawn Invasion
-Burning Tower

Dexterity
-The Raw Fade
-Templar's Nightmare
-Mage Asunder x2

Willpower
-Darkspawn Invasion
-Weisshaupt
-The Raw Fade
-Mage Asunder

Magic
-Mage Asunder
-Burning Tower

Cunning
-Darkspawn Invasion
-Burning Tower x2
-Templar's Nightmare
-Mage Asunder

Constitution
-Burning Tower
-Mage Asuner

As long as you're thorough they're not difficult to find. Some you can only access in the spirit-thingy form though.

We just added the Fade maps to our walkthrough today, so you can look there if you're having trouble finding all of the attribute essences.
