Dragon Age - Summoning Sciences

Post by mammu »

I have a question about Summoning Sciences Quest. I have done the 3 summonings successfully. What is the correct sequence for the 4th summoning flame? I have found one writeup on Gamefaqs (for the XBox version) but when I followed that one I got zapped when clicking on the next object (after about 3 or 4 correct objects). I am playing the PC game.
By the way, I really love this game.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I wasn't even aware there was a fourth sequence. Did this appear somewhere in the game? If I recall correctly, the book you find with the ritual only reveal three, and only one is required to end the quest.

As far as I know, there are only 3 - at least the quest marked itself complete after I did the 3 in the ritual notes :)

Ah, see - I did the third ritual first, and that was probably why the quest then "ended" for me right off the bat. But indeed, as far as I know there were only three to begin with. :)

Likewise, I only came across three summoning quests in the mage tower, all on the apprentice level of the tower. But, that's where I'm at now in the game and have only completed that floor of the tower; currently on the second.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

No, there are four.

I might be wrong, but I remember that the fourth one is near the first one but closer to the center. If you press Tab near the summoning sites you'll see it eventually.

However I didn't find any indication of a fourth ritual and the quest was completed by performing the third one.

There is a fourth quest. Spoiler:
Spoiler
when you get to the Great Hall there are three statues against the wall. Click in this order: far left, far right, center statue. This will then allow you to click the statue in the next to last room where you face the demon (on the center pedestal) and this will "open" the basement door. When you go back to that door, it will spawn another demon when you approach the door.

This is a totally different quest. To complete it you have to find all the apprentice notes scattered around the tower, perform the described ritual and then go to the "lobby" and deal with the demon.
This is a highly recommended quest since the demon is relatively easy and he drops Yusaris, which is a unique tier 6 socketed Greatsword.

However the fourth summoning site refers to the Summoning Sciences quest and has nothing to do with basements or notes. At least I don't think so, since I haven't found a ritual for it yet. It is not necessary for the quest though.

Don't know what to do with it but the fourth circle's in the room with the stairs up. That is leave the library with the font and go into the room with the two rows of bookshelves and the stairs, head through the gap made by a fallen one and you'll find it behind the bookshelves.

Forgot to mention

I forgot to mention, it's a stealing opp, so if you have someone who has high level theivery, make sure you have them, and you have maybe 2 seconds max to pull it off. Good luck.

the fourth is a combination of all three previous rituals and is an easter egg rather than a real quest
