Just completed the quest to pick up Shale, the golem.
He's pretty impressive looking and as a level 11 warrior he's two levels higher than Alister at this point so he's in the party. The rogue Liliana is starting to have issues with opening chests again so I'm gonna go with two battering rams and then my mage and the healer.
Anyone else have Shale and tried him out? Any good?

Currently Shale is in my party as a tank, he fits the role very well.
You can equip him with different sorts of elemental damage an he has good armor and even better HP.
You can also spec him as a (ranged)damager if that would fit your party better.
And just as important, his dialoge is hilarious!

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I'll have to check out his ranged abilities. It would be nice to get one "throw" or something off before he runs in. It was cool finding a use for those gems I'd been finding (too bad I had sold most of them) but I got a good selection in the quest run to activate him. He certainly outlives Alistar more often than not in my twin-tank format.
With so many funny, interesting and powerful people you can add to your party, it pains me I can only add three. I haven't unlocked Shale yet, but I haven't been able to add anyone new since I got Alistair, Leliana and Wynne. I should let Leliana go (I'm a rogue myself), but she is a love interest.. I am afraid of missing dialogue.
You now bear the awesome responsibility of the Metal "Unit". Gussets of wind, seams like reality, pockets of resistance, the seat of power, and legs as flared as your temper. Polish it well; the onus is now on you.
