Doll in Eilani's Sorrow Quest

Post by GawainBS »

Hello

I started this quest, first part is ticked off in the Journal, but I don't have the doll in my inventory, nor does my Quest Item section in the Journal mentions it. It's no longer on the table behind Eilani. I rechecked the vendors, to see if I sold it, but it wasn't sold. (I doubt you can.)
Any ideas on how I can solve this problem? Or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Did you die and lose your inventory at some point? From what I've seen, when somebody loses one of the items for this quest, then that's it. You won't be able to complete it.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Strangely enough, after I quitted the game, and loaded my save again, I got the doll from her. I had talked to her before for about 4 times. Strange...
Thanks for the help, though. :)

I've dropped the quest item more than once. Usually by mistake.

You can go back at any time and talk to the last person in this quest that gave you an item, and get it again. Provided two things:

1) You do not have the item in your inventory. (or on any NPC, including pets and those in the Inn)
2) The item is not elsewhere in the world. ie on the ground somewhere.

If you drop it, it will stay where it is until a reload. I'm not sure, but I think in Single Player that the item never clears, so one would have to find it. I don't play SP much, so this is only a guess from things I've heard from others. MP, has no such problem.

According to what happened with me, it seems you're right.
