Beginner needs help, please
I am very new to RPG games, so, please bear with me. I am trying to play Titan's Quest, but, movement is very choppy and sometimes mouse goes haywire. I have installed patches and tried diferent video settings. Any other suggestions?

Well, if I move the mouse a little, it jerks clear across the screen. It's almost impossible to get it to land where I want it to.
As for system specs, the only thing I'm sure of is I have a 1.8 processor, 1GB RAM and plenty of HD space. Video & audio I don't know. My son custom built this pc and I'm not sure what he used.

Please use the EDIT button in the future, towards the bottom of your post, to add new information, instead of listing two successive posts so close together in time. Thanks.

Ok, as for the jerking of the mouse thing, I don't know what that's all about but I understand what you're talking about. It may be a glitch of some sort, so I would suggest reinstalling the game.Catarin wrote:Well, if I move the mouse a little, it jerks clear across the screen. Oh, and a 1.8 GhZ processor, do me a favor and right click on "My Computer" and then click "Properties." I just need to know if the processor says AMD or Intel. If it is Intel, I'll say this right now, that is an extremely slow processor for today's gaming standards, but if it's AMD, you might be alright for now and could just use a Video Card Upgrade (You can get a cheap enough one if need be to get rid of most of the lag, 40 bucks top for a minimalist sort of thing).
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

It is an AMD. I think I have the mouse problem fixed. I finally changed to a widescreen setting in options that has fixed it. Character movement is still not as good as it should be. I've been thinking about a new computer. Guess I'll see if my son has time to build me one. Thanks for your help.
Now I have a question about saving the game. I always save before I exit, and I know it takes you back to last rebirth fountain, but, are the "bad guys" I killed before I saved supposed to be back when I resume? It gets very aggravating to have to keep killing the same guys over and over.

Nice to meet ya Catarin. Yes the monsters will respawn so think before you log off of what lies in front of you. hehe. I play this game alot and love it myself. I have two sons aged 15 and 16. My youngest will play with me sometimes but lately has gotten back into his shooter type games. My oldest loves playing Wow, which i kinda gave up to come back to this game once i found out about the IT latest updates etc.
Ive found that if im having a problem in game with game stuttering or things of that nature is to go into the game options and lower the video settings etc to see if thats a problem. Currently im not having any problems. My highest character right now is a lvl 59 Oracle which ive managed to get all the way thru to Legendary. Slowly working my way thru acts and bosses picking the strategic rebirth fountains to quit and re-run the boss over n over till i get those hard to find Purple items you need for Legendary.

This is normal, yes.Catarin wrote:It is an AMD. I think I have the mouse problem fixed. I finally changed to a widescreen setting in options that has fixed it. For me it is a good system, because when i encounter a boss that i cannot defeat, i'll exit and play the area again so i have gained some extra levels. Then it is possible to defeat the boss!
About the performance, you closed all the unnescesary programs that are running in the background? For me it is already a big difference if i still have an open IE, or FireFox window. Maybe you can take a look at these things?
Nice to meet everyone here,too.
My 2 previous RPG's were nothing like TQ. This is a real learning experience, more so than they were. I feel like a total "infant" here.
So, what happens if I don't go back & kill the same guys again? From what I can tell my 1st Quest, Satry Shaman, is complete, even though he has "respawned".
I am up to a level 3, haven't made it far as you can tell. So, if I go back & kill the same guys again, my level will go up, and bosses will be easier to kill?
Then, I need to make it to the next rebirth fountain before I quit the game? Correct? Then all the guys I killed will stay dead?
No, I don't have anything running in the background. I have a PC and a laptop, so I play game on PC and do this on laptop.
Hope I'm not being too much of a pest here.

Everything always respawns in entering the game again. So the only reason to repeatedly kill the same boss is to hope for treasure or gain xp. Same for killing the same mobs. If you are strong enough go ahead and advance to new fountains and you will get more purple portals that you can teleport to. Also more quests.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
Yes you can stop in game wherever you like...but upon re-entering you will enter at the last active rebirth spawn. I use them quite extensively during playing to enable me to continually enter the game in a specific area im working on finding items. My advance in game is usually much further than where im actually searching for items. To activate a rebirth spawn you simply need to click it and it activates, however dont do it if your game progress is further along and not at a town for you to teleport to, to continue on in your game. I hope im not confusing you with this detail.
Its a way for people to go back in lets say Act I or Act II when your game save is actually in Act IV etc., to hunt for items or experience.
