I wouldn't be surprised if they did. has anyone on GB heard of Lamb?
So have you made your changes yet Fable?
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

Too true, I rarely watch it. But where are we supposed to find out about music these days? I mean, the last time I bought the NME it had HearSay on the cover, for goodness sake!! Radio 1's Evening Session used to be good, but they play too much mainstream stuff these days too...

You could try MTV2 and some of the other digital channels.
Other than that i do not know, i pick up most of mine from MTV's channels. Radio 1 is appaling now. i am not that much of a prude, but Sara Cox and Chris moyles are just too much, what is Cox' obsession with womens breasts?
John Peel used to be good, but i hardly listen to it anymore, i remember the days of jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq doing an excellent job, and Mark and Lard having the likes of Belle & Sebastien on the Graveyard slot, those were the days.

I don't have digital
And I always avoid listening to the radio if it so happens that I'm awake for the breakfast show...
OMG, Mark and Lard on the graveyard slot, they were the best! Sadly their afternoon slot means they have to be far too mainstream. They used to be excellent. They used to have poets and stuff on as well.. ah, the good old days... And the Evening Session was good then... John Peel still plays some good stuff.

Sorry for bringing it up.

They are terrible aren't they, Atlantic 252 - the only real alternative - are jsut as bad. Might have to resort to Radio 2

yeah and i think they have started to loose the plot a little, they have jsut gone stupid, their show is no longer irreverent it is pointless and not funny.

When's about is he on?

10-midnight a couple of days a week I think...
I just listen to CDs instead of bad radio I can't listen to commercial radio, that annoys me even more. If I was closer to London I might listen to XFM, that's supposed to be good, unfortunately we're just out of range.
Yeah, Mark and Lard are mainly just stupid... although if you listen to their show enough you might catch the occasional bit of comic genius

I'll keep an ear out for it.

Well the Shire Horses was a brilliant piece of comic genius, but they just perpetuate that, i should listen to it in work really, i am sure my boss wouldn't mind too much.

I wonder how many people even know the reference (sea horses) i think that alone is a reason to change the material, once everyone is unsure of what the joke is, it isn't funny.

True, but they established themselves as that. Only one song off their whole first album was a cover of a Seahorses song... But I guess after that, they figured they might as well stick with the name
@Mr Sleep - I am not the best person to discuss DJs I listen to a radio station for music, the same reason I would watch a film for the story line rather than for who directed/produced/starred in it. A bit shallow I know - but it is those kind of details I look for
The only DJ I used to deliberately listen to (for who he was rather than what he played) was Caesar The Geezer! Absolutely hysterical late night chat show He has been banned from so many stations - not around anymore as far as I know...
Parachute for sale, like new! Never opened!

It might be; I'll have to check. Gorecki and Arvo Part have become famous in the last decade for their intensely spiritual classical compositions. Gorecki's Symphony #3 has three movements, each dedicated to the victims of one major war atrocity, and it's the second movement that was used in the film. if I can find my recording, I'll post a translation of the lyrics sung by the soprano.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
@Ysh, i just naturally remember mundane things like names of directors etc. i am a sponge like that, sometimes i wish that i oculd devote my mind to intellectual pursuits, but i usually end up watching some film and remembering every actors name etc.

Anyway enough of bashing Mark And Lard, what do you think of nimone and other DJ's?
I used to like the Simon Mayo show, the daytime schedule has gone downhill since he left... Most of the others are kind of annoying. Not as bad as Moyles and Cox, but Nimone, Emma B, Dave Pearce... don't really like any of them. Still quite like Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, and John Peel. The rest of them are dull.
@Yshania I listen to radio for the music, that's why I avoid advert-ridden commercial radio
