The Rogue:

Post by Dreez »

Howdy, your local crazy swede here :D .

Since i like backstabbing friends and killing people from behind it became
obvious to me that Rogue was the only option for me to play in WoW , so i
set out as an Undead Rogue and reached level 28 in about 1 week in the end
of US open beta before it closed.

However, like always (or mostly) i ran into a slight problem with my build
that made me quiet confused. Since my path took me towars the darkside
of Assassination , i decided to spend most point earned into that "tree" .
But this is where the problem is. Anyone who knows Rogues in WoW says that
you should go for dual wield, and later on , dualwield specialization.
However, this requires that you spend ATLEAST 15 hard earned points into your combat tree , points that could be well spent in your skills of
assassination.

So... Everyone says. Rogues NEED these 2 skills from the combat tree, but
what if you´re going the beauteful way of assassination - do you REALLY
want to spend 15-20 points in Combat , or are those a waste   .

I don't have much experience with rouges but a general tip would be to try out both of them and see which one works best for you. IIRC you can redistribute your telent points later in the game so it would hurt to try it out.

There are different kinds of rogues you can play. You don't have to get duel-wield spec once you get duel-wield. You'd actually have to spend 20 points into the combat tree to get it, since you can't start researching it until you have 15 already in combat tree. I say go for assassination if you want. It really depends on your playing style and whether you solo a lot and group in large parties or small ones and ect.

Anyways here is a practice tree you can use.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.
