Your favorite creatures in DII (potential spoilers)

Post by Tybaltus »

Well Ill break it down by act for me. Because there are a lot of creatures I really found to be quite unique and cool.

Act 1-I really liked the goatmen with scythes. They also appeared in Act 2, but they were my favorites from Act 1, for sure.

Act 2-Claw Vipers were quite cool. :D

Act 3- Flayer Shamen-While they were increadibly annoying and did truckloads of damage with their firebreathing, they were awesome looking. Very unique how there is one flayer on top of another. Though I also liked the Water serpents and the Undead Flayer dolls.

Act 4- Definetly the Corpse eaters. Their attack is just classic, and I couldnt stop laughing even though I was dying real quick. :D Though the Balrogs were also cool.

Act 5-The Death Lords with the double swing attack or the yetis. The Death Lords, were, by far, the most damaging creature you found in bunches in DII. :D And the yetis...well I think they were masterfully done, though my brother (seraphshattered on Gamebanshee) disagreed. :D

So what does everyone else think?

Act 3- Thunder hulks are wicked..... love the way they burn in my face when they DIE

You try reaching level 90 without the cowlevel.
I think the cows shouldn't drop any items, thats where mephisto comes in!!!
I don't know any favorite creatures, I do know what I hate:

- All summonors / shamans
- FLAYERS!!!!!!!
- Baal (I hate it when he does that curce where you're spells cost life instead off mana)
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Hmmm...what creatures I hate according to acts:

1-Ghoul Lords in the catacombs. Guh....I just hate them....not to mention the dark ones that you can find down there. If they swarm around you and there are shamans near by, youre done for.

2-Anything in the Arcane sanctuary....but I also hate the spear cats that throw poison containers....the poison never subsides! The screen is green 100% of the time Im in the Lost city. Or the magi and their eggs. Those little beasts that come from the eggs are not worth any experince!

3-Flayers....no doubt about it.

4-Those damn mages of the 4 elements in Diablo II-poison, ice, lighting, and fire. The ice one does a truckload of damage and its a headache.

5-The imps....they just teleport WAY too much and there are too many of them.

1- I don't know, never really got buged by any monsters in act1. It is so easy so there is nothing really to be bugged about :D

2- Those jumpng thingees, why can't they stand still while I shoot arrows ar them

3- Flayers!

4- those half gost monsters that always shoot lighting at you and then hides

5- None never met any in act 5 ;)

Oh I know it. And they heal themselves when they pant aswell. Quite annoying. And when theyre in packs it is such a nightmare.

Oh Burning souls. I agree. If I dont care about it, I just try and run by them. They have counter parts that are just as annoying in act 3. But they do a good amount of damage and you cant hit them when theyre invisible. BAH!

Hmm...dont have the expansion?

Nope when the game was really hot I didn't have the cash, and now there are better games to spend money on. I might still ctrl+c it from a friend. Not sure if I'll bother though. Besides LoD on the net seems to easy with all those level 99 chars our there. Vanilla D2 seems to be more of a challenge in order to rech higher levels....

hmm...diablo 2 seems to be plagued with incompetent uber-item super-tweaked setups, at least online in public games...though there still are small communities that actually enjoy playing the game and adding something new to it.. hmm oh well
my favorite monster class would be the succubi :) though they're less charismatic than the diablo 1 versions
I would undoubtedly prefer the former...or the latter.

Those are, by far, the best to revive for a necromancer in Diablo 2. Their sheer speed makes them awesome, but when they curse your enemies aswell, very good indeed.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm gonna borrow LOD from a fiend of mine just to finish the game with all the extra stuff :d

Oh its worth it. All the new items is one thing. The new act is another thing. But the Druid and Assassin class are well worth playing through with. I played DII for an extra few months because of the expansion. It revived my enthusiasm for the game for a while.

Favorite monster... umm that would have to be the frosty guys in act 5 and death knight in act 4. What monsters I hate is really easy, flayers in act 3. I really hade hell there on hell with a sorc, they are immune to cold and fw isn't really good, they just run out of it, so I died a lot there.
