English/Japanese/English/Japanese etc, til you choke. (spam on subject)

Post by fable »

This is it. Deceptively simple, huh? Just enter anything in English, then press the button. It will do a reasonable translation into Japanese, then back again into English, then again into Japanese, etc, until the two are alike--hitting an equilibrium.

The more complex or idiomatic the English, often the more interesting the result. For example:

"I conjured up a demon that attacked his ugly mug," becomes "My ugly face, he was attacked by a demon conjured," which is something else, again. But it did catch the obsolete slang, mug, for face. Go figure.

"The end of day is the beginning of night," the start of Pierrot Lunaire, one of the great symbolist works, was eventually rendered as "This was the first night." Surrealism gives way to virginity.

And for some reason, "May the Force be with you!" becomes "5 Power!"

The rest is up to you. :)

The phrase "The red fox jumps over the short brick wall" becomes untranslatable, as the equilibrium ends up having both English and Japanese characters. I broke it, do I win anything?

Do you like sushi?

"Do you like sushi?" becomes "I like sushi"

Furthermore, fable's signature quote is also untranslatable, as you end up with "Violence by the triumph of justice. Fan, wink, affectionately, in a warm friend, and decided to approve the remaining space." and below that "It is doubtful that this phrase will ever reach equilibrium."

Fibey's quote in my sig becomes "Bake to kill it."

There are morning when I've felt like that, too.

Okay, I was having more fun with this thing and decided to try and translate a name. Specifically, Sarah Palin which results in "Saraparin." But what really got me was the quote beneath it;
That didn't even make that much sense in English.
Nice to see it has some common sense at least :)

Fun toy! :D

My two signatures ended up as:
"All these moments will be lost in the rain of tears" (without the ellipses)

and with the ellipses "... ....... All the time ... like tears ... drizzle."

"Dragon, please interfere in the management of ketchup and brown well."

lol!

I also entered a recent Facebook update:
"while on a Y rowing machine earlier today, I was observing the rows of people on ellipticals, bicycles and the like... some staring straight ahead, others reading or watching things on microcomputers.. and entire the vision struck me as strangely comical.. Somehow I was reminded of a Far Side cartoon, perhaps a herd of cattle peddling and pumping furiously in a frantic effort to avoid the slaughterhouse.. "

This one became really bizarre :D

"Lee ROINGUMASHIN in front of me, this root was looking for a bike or elliptical ... some straight ahead, .. please read it. Overall vision of the microcontroller, the sense of mystery and magic. . I am the most powerful pump on the other side .. I am the slaughterhouse, cows, early morning, the morning of the war in the morning, SUTOREJIBENDA comics, to avoid congestion in the morning"

Equilibrium found!
That didn't even make that much sense in English.

Then still dealing with sleeping problems, I decided to take a phrase Loki wrote:
"That sketch! I've seen it before! Zombie leprechauns are coming I tell ya! Run for your lives. The gold is only a bait to lure in people with the specific kinda brains the zombie leprechauns consider a delicacy. If you listen real carefully at night, you can hear them feasting on said delicacies whilst playing on a set of bagpipes. Seriously."

This was transformed into:
"Sketch! I have seen before! Leprechauns zombie, you! Please run your life. The only small leprechauns gold zombies, food sensitive, are tempted by the brain. If the delicacy of the music to the actual food, is set using the pipe you can listen to. Seriously."

ROFL!

We like our friends. **** everyone else!
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

LOL, this is loads of fun. My quote "Relgion was a good idea; it's execution has been poor!" Reached equilibrium with:

"My religion, please do something bad!" Talk about profound!

What I wrote was twisted. But this is downright evil. I am in awe.

"To be or not to be, that is the question" becomes "If you have questions". :D

And to follow everyone my sig ends up as: "But we do have a problem, the problem is not anything." Which doesn't really make much sense.

No, but it smells of the Tao. Which is a really not-smell, you know. ;)

Sounds like something Einstein would say.

Also, this; "It's a dog eat dog world out there" becomes this; "This dog eat dog world"

Since we're doing signatures-

"Wonder Twin Powers Activate, Form of an Ice Menorah!"

becomes-

"Ice Menorah it activates the anti- power of wonder, forms"
