Stuck at Castle Never

Please help,

The gate after the tomb of halueth never wont open. Ihave tried everything, i already has the scepter and the special sword after completing all the questions along the way. The gate wont open so i cant get to nasher.

It sounds like you may have encountered a bug. If i remember correctly, that gate should be opened once you have retrieved the Rod of Never. Try reloading from a previous save.

Actually I've been trying to start over from the Amon Jerro's haven even after defeating Amon and start of ACT III nothing is happening when i get at the tomb and has retrieved the rod with the special sword. Could this be a bug since I have already installed MOTB but havent played it yet?

Based on my experiences that isnt the case. When i installed MotB it actually kinda cleared up a couple of bugs from the original campaign instead of causing new ones lol. Perhaps looking thru our walkthrough here might provide you with some clues.

This most certainly is a bug in MotB.... There are multiple threads on the topic if you do some googling. I'm suffering from this *insert explitive here* bug and the only solution i've seen crop up is an unistall, re-install without MotB type thing!!!!! does anyone know a hack or console command to bypass this bug????

the oc has always worked fine with motb.

maybe your pc is messed up.

im having the same problem as well. i have the sceptre but the gate doesnt open.
and i have motb on my pc as well. didnt play it yet though.
can someone please give us the correct console command to open the gate?

Did you try patching? When I installed MotB, my game became a cheap motel, very buggy, but patching fixed everything.

Current patch is I believe 1.23.17** (something). This however includes fixes in relation to SOZ, so who knows at what point the patch should stop BEFORE the SOZ alterations?

The console commands for NWN2 are much harder to use than, say, those in The Elder Scrolls games. So, it would probably be much easier to google a link for the latest patch, rather than to find a console command solution to your problem. Like [url="http://nwn2.obsidian.net/support/patch.html"]so.[/url]

how do i download them? and which pitch is the one i need to download?

Run the game via your Start Menu and press the "Update" button on the launcher menu. If you have any problems during the update process, please check the following places for more information:

I got this from the site I linked for you. Try following those instructions to patch your game.

It'll be easier to use a console command only if you know what the command is. And as I said previously, the console commands for NWN2 is not as well known as that for the Elder Scrolls games, and thus much harder to use.

i tried updating the game via the uodate option on the game screen but it didnt help
any other suggestions?
