You could always try Little Lamplight.

Best place for ammo is usually on a dead enemy's corpse. Same goes with weapons you need for maintaining your current gun. I rarely buy or repair my weapons with traders. Though perhaps the best traders in the game are the wandering ones, provided you do a mini-quest which involves a town i cant recall... And that they actually manage to survive long enough to trade with you.

IIRC, he will target enemies close enough to threaten you. Though that also means he will charge headfirst at gun-toting raiders or mercs from time to time, should you get close enough to them in your gunfights.

Canterbury Commons over on the East side.

Also, if you didn't fancy trading and kill them all off then they each have a key on their corpse. This should open their personal locker in the mayor of CC's house which , I assume, contains all the things they trade.

It depends on the weapon you are using. The more firepower it has, the more AP it will take up. Hence, you can only get off a couple of shots with a sniper, but tonnes of whacks with a baseball bat.

With Broken steel he gets a BOATLOAD more HP, and after level 20, there is a perk called Puppies!, that gives you Dogmeat's Offspring.

For the PC, there are also mods that make him essential
Spoiler
or just use the "setessential 6a772 1" console command, but without the quotes
.

He's also great for finding the Firelance, an extremely rare random event.

ive been using the hunting rifle as my primary. i can take 3 shots at 3 diff targets, but i could do that when i was a level 4. i supposedly have alot of action pts, and what are all my agility pts doing, besides boosting my small guns? I have another question that is REALLY off topic but I know somebody has done it. Basically I want to use my 360 controller on my pc. Ive been to microsofts website 100 times, downloaded the accessories setup program and it just dosent work for me. At first i thought it was the type of game i was playing (fallout, simcity, oblivion, halo, arcade) but it just dosent work for anything. Id love any help!! Thanks
