Weird weather

Post by Obsidian »

I don't know about the rest of you, but the weather in my hometown has been, for lack of a better word, ridiculous. Hot and sunny followed by snow. SNOW.

Check out this forecast.
Weather Forecast: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - The Weather Network

I've heard that global warming has an effect on weather patterns but I've never seen anything I considered concrete about that. Does anybody out here have a good answer on that?
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

I don't know... The weather on the west coast has been strange as well. We've had an unusually chilly spring. For example, in early March we had a serious blast of ice and snow. OK, I know that in the rest of the country snow in March is often the norm, but that is almost unheard of here.
Even now in mid May, it is unseasonably fresh. It's supposed to be sunny with highs around 20 over the weekend.. but, that is after lots of rain and cool weather, so it pretty much just feels like "Finally! It's about bloody time!"

It might well be climate change (probably a more accurate term than "Global Warming")... it's hard to say. But yes, I think there is a body of thought that supports the idea of climate change affecting weather patterns. Of course.. there's also plenty of debate on the subject, which makes it difficult to find the concrete at the times.

Weather people missed doing the right seasonal sacrifices, didn't they? Forgot to offer the most succulent goat and lamb meat to the appropriate god? You really can't neglect the tried and true methods, you know.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Let's not be hasty, the calendar's only about two days out.

I blame Cubs fans, they've obviously been shirking their goat sacrifices in a vain attempt to lift the curse.

Its been alternating hot and weird in Toronto. It gets hot for a day or two, then gets chilly and rainy for the next day or two. It hailed rather hard this past Saturday. Same thing this weekend, which is supposed to be a rather cool May long weekend. :(

It was warmer in the first half of April here on the east coast than it is right now. I've grown to expect these kind of things, but spring more or less arrived on time this year. I call that a win. ;)
