What Will Happen?.....

Post by RavenWhitehawk »

I have a Small Problem, lol, it is Very Ironic Though, and Maybe not even have any Ill Effects, I don't know, but here is the Situation:

I am Arch Mage for the Mages Guild, LMAO, now I have been Charged with Stealing a Staff From the Arch Mage through the Thieves Guild Quests. Obviously I will not have a Problem getting into the Arch Mages Quarters, but when I steal that Staff Will I be Relieved of my Arch Mage Status?

Very Reluctant to Steal the Staff, Because it was tough getting Through all of those Quests.

As I recall, it doesn't count as stealing because you own it. It definitely doesn't get you kicked out of the Mage's Guild. I remember thinking there should be a dialog option to tell Methredel, "what, this old thing? If you want it that bad you can have it"!

Psst! Guess What!

.....There's a mod for it! It adds a journal entry for your character wherein he or she wonders if he or she will get caught working for the Thieves Guild by the Mages Guild and handing over Arcane University Property!

Everything went ok, lol

I did it, but did a Quick save just incase anything should happen, but nothing did, I just thought that little bit of Irony was Hillarious,

one other thing I am Confused over, I had placed some rather Valuable Stuff in the Drawers at the foot of my Bed at the Arch Mages Quarters, I went back to get it and it was gone. What happened to it I wonder? :)

Also that enchanted Chest didn't seem to work with Nirn Root Either :( which would have been way cool if it had.

Congratulations and good for you! (The mod I mentioned is meant to deal with that irony.)

It respawns I guess. But in game, just pretend one of the others went looking for the same staff and couldn't find it, so made due out of frustration. ;)

Also that enchanted Chest didn't seem to work with Nirn Root Either :( which would have been way cool if it had.
Nirnroot is meant to be rare, hence the quest it gets. It won't grow back from where you pluck them or pick them, or so I've read, without a mod. (I guess that's why some modder made a Nirnroot patch!)

Ouch. It's probably gone for good unless you can load a saved game from before you put your stuff in there. Unlike the containers in the houses you can buy, the containers in the dwellings you have access to as master of the different guilds are hit and miss. Your best bet is to test it by putting some useless items in it and wait 3 days. If it's still there, the container is probably safe for long-term storage. If the items are missing or different, the container is the kind that re-spawns periodically and it's definitely not safe for long-term storage. I've been meaning to compile a list of safe and unsafe guildmaster containers, but just haven't gotten around to it. As I recall, the nightstand beside the arch-mage bed is safe, but the one at the foot of the bed is not (but please test it first to make sure).

There are a handful of alchemy ingredients that the enchanted chest won't duplicate, mostly rare, pain-in-the-neck ones like nirnroot (but you can dupe all the carrots and grapes you want  ). Maybe LeoStarDragon knows of a mod that makes the enchanted chest work on ALL alchemy ingredients.

My Ears Are Burning!

Hello! As a matter of fact, I think I do recall someone modifying the Arch-Mage Apartment, including the storage units. But I have so many mods, I'd have to peruse awhile, as some I do use and some I don't, but keep as a reminder so I don't look for them again. Shall I look for it, for you?

Great idea for a list, Belthan! :)

Nah Thats ok, not a Problem.

No thats ok, I was just curious about the
NirnRoot thing is all. I kinda had a feeling that the stuff I put in there, after I realized it was gone, was gone forever.

np, Live, play and learn I always say, lol

I do have another Question, hope it isn't to silly, but I bought that Haunted house in Anvil, I like it alot, it is a nice house, but I was wondering if I can Change the name of it, the Deed says I can but don't really understand where to do it, if it is Possible.

Thanks for the offer for the Mod, I appreciate it.

You are welcome, Raven Whitehawk!

I too have wondered about that deed. Like, is it a reference to the Construction Set? Or is it like one of those bumper stickers with the phony telephone number to call about someone's driving? (The "1-800-EAT-****" one!) Because it had the surname of the previous owner, and now that it belongs to you, it would be nice to be able to update the name.

But anyway, I've never seriously went in search of the office it references. I wonder if any one else has. If it does exist, I'd take advantage of it!

Renaming your Manor

That Would be so Cool if I could Rename the Manor in Anvil, I already have a name Picked out in the Event I ever come accross that office Referenced in the Deed. Since My Argonian's Surname is MoonShadow, I figured MoonShadow Manor would be Fitting. it even Sounds Fitting. lol, oh well, I suppose I could Live with its Original Name, would be nice though to change it.

Have Fun, everyone.

Please, let me, er, us know if you are eventually able to do so! Right now my Apple Candy Cane is: "The Gray Fox", "Blades Sister"....Wait! Hm. I'm trying to do this in proper chronological order. I wonder if I can activate the game with this window open and then check her roster and come back here. Hey! It worked! My memory problem is that "Apple Candy Cane" is an emergency replacement for "Angie the Buxom". (Angie's stuck up in the sky above the Imperial City, with her dog Skinny, due to some glitch.) So I was starting all over, but not in the same sequence. Now where was I?

"Oh, yeah!" (Heheh! I'm drinking "Black Cherry Kool-Aid".) Here's where I am.

I got so used to playing the mod-made Class "Warrior Princess", that I forgot I switched to the newer mod-made Class "Guard". Although the Blades escorting the Emperor didn't seem to know any better, Apple wasn't in the cell as a Prisoner, she was a member of the Imperial Watch, complete with the armor and weapons. Too bad it didn't show up in her Factions menu. It was funny when the other guards would walk up to her and say she was off duty now and then stand where she was, where ever she happened to be! The ranks are: 0 - Watchman, 1 - Captain, 2 - Centurion, and 3 - Commander. The cute bits ceased when she became a Commander. I guess because being promoted wasn't a part of the mod's concept. I used the Console to promote her, so the other Guards would stop following her around trying to relieve her at her post, or do the other things they did. Now it seems like they wonder why she doesn't show up at the offices or do a routine patrol anymore.

She's also able to be a Prostitute and earn money, but it doesn't show up in the Faction menu either. So far, she hasn't met any takers though, but she gets plenty of compliments about how she looks anyway.

Now, here is what does show up in her Factions menu! In order they are:

"Duel Faction (Generic) = 1", "Thieves Guild = Gray Fox", "Knights of the White Stallion = Knight-Errant", "Blades = Knight Sister", "Mages Guild = Associate", "Knights of the Thorn = Honorary Knight". Whew! :D

Raven
Hi, Raven! :)

I've been too busy trying to play catch up, in the sense of trying to get my new character up to the same level as a previous character, so that then I can feel like I'm picking up where I left off. Get the quests out of the way, then explore.

But hurray for you, because you actually went exploring rather than gave in to the game's way of sort of making you do each quest as you get it. You probably saw areas I've yet to see! ;)

Good luck with your self-made quest! If you can't find an official in-game way to achieve your goal, I have an idea, if you're willing to experiment.

Save your game first though, just in case!

Go to the house, open the console, click on the house, and try changing the name that way. I thought of that, because I found a mod that allowed you to change the names of objects. I'm still trying to work it out though.

Happy questing!

.....& good luck! :)

EDIT: I forgot to add that Apple has become a "Pilgrim" and a "Pit Dog" since last time. However, I've decided to hurry through the "Arena" first and get it over with. She completed her Mage's Guild round of recommendation quests. She has done all of the "Allies for Bruma" too. When she's done with the Arena, I don't know yet where to go next, the university or the chapel. Oh, and I think her Pilgrimage may be over too, as you get credit for those already visited.

Raven
"CRS Syndrome"?

Anyway, if you don't mind using mods, there's one called "Encyclopedia Cyrodellica". It places scrolls available for purchase at "First Edition" in the Imperial City. One of those scrolls is titled "Console Commands". It might help you! I hope so anyway. ;) Good luck again and too bad that it didn't work out right away.

Stumped again

CRS Syndrome = Can't Remember S**t Syndrome. lol. hope I can say that word here.

Any way, I am at the point now were I have to shut down Blackwood Company. I would like to Bring Henchmen with me, Can I have my Mage and an Assassin with me (being Arch Mage, and Listener). but my Past experience with having allies has left my Allies Dead, so I am kinda unwilling to Take advantage of the Henchies, I don't want to kill my Understudies, lol. Shadowmere has already bit the dust, through no fault of mine, in a way.... I couldn't heal Shadowmere when he took some Damage, and became unconscience several times (Will- o- Wisps are EVIL) Poor Shadowmere, and I was just starting to get the Hang of Riding him.

Darn time for me to get to work, have fun everyone

Oh, that! I remember those jokes! But it isn't an expression I use. I'm too busy reminding people, especially Dad, about what they've forgotten. ;)

Shadowmere had a sex change?!

Hm. Interesting question. I've got my army gathered to help defend Bruma. But I'm doing the detour quest, "A Brotherhood Betrayed". Apple Cande Cane needs to enter the inn to talk to the innkeeper. But inside is her personaly army. She had already entered to see them fighting each other and slowing the FPS down to 1! So I had to quit, as she couldn't resolve the conflict. I'll have to ponder some more about how to resolve the problem.

Anyway, your Shadowmere is not set to essential?! How did that happen?

If she is just unconscious, she cane be revived over time. Mine was once out for hours in-game.

Darn time for me to get to work, have fun everyone
Raven.

Have fun! Good luck! Congratulations on having a job/career!
