Mazoga issue - same problem different timing

Post by railroad1125 »

PlayStation 3 -Game of the year. I got and completed Mazoga quest at Fisherman's Rock. However, immediately returning to tell the King of my success of understanding Mazoga thinking she is a knight - the guards jump and attack her. I rush the King to tell him what I know, he assigns me the quest to be a Knight. Mazoga dies before I can leave the King's throneroom... and quest closes as quick as I get it. Can I still go to his supposed location (ruin) at the same hours to become a knight or is this quest permanently gone for me? I have gone to said ruin twice between the hours and haven't seen him arrive. Should I be somewhere specifically? Inside v outside?

SPOILERS?! About Your Problem With....

....Mazoga the Orc. She probably died because of the glitches associated with the Daedric Shrine Quests for both Nocturnal and Sanguine. The former because it involves Weebam-Na and the latter because it involves Countess Alessia Caro. If Mazoga is your pal, and you did something naughty that the guards don't approve of, with the Daedra's quests, then she is probably dying defending your honor. :(

But anyway, to answer the second point, sorry, but she needs to be alive to do "Knights of the White Stallion", otherwise Count Marius Caro deems you unworthy to be a knight as you allowed her, Mazoga, to get killed! :(

life: I realize where on the net the quest details are located. My question was with her dying after receiving the Knight quest (thus closing the quest) if there was a way to reopen the quest by going to the ruin, find him on my own, kill him on my own, and returning. I ask this b/c everytime i go next to the king, he asks me if I have found broga yet... if there was a way, then what was the best way (remaining in one location instead of bobbing inside and outside the ruin like i was doing waiting for him to arrive)

Hello! I know that I'm not "lifeishell91", but I think the answer to your quest questions are this.
Spoiler
I hide in the dark near the container and ambush him and his two aids in the dark. If I arrive early, I sleep or wait, with the time being when Mazoga says Black Brugo will arrive. Read the note inside his Ayelid Container for another clue I think. Now as for getting your knight title with Mazoga already dead, I answered that question. Without a PC to reset the quest stages, you either have to start over, or go back to a prior save, when she was still alive. Or accept that she's dead and that the Count won't knight you. Unless you get a lucky glitch to take advantage of. :( Your character even if knighted, will only get bounty money for each Black Bow you turn in, while she is supposed to be alive and do most of the knight work for him, because she moves in to the White Stallion Lodge full time, while you go off and do other adventures. That's why he wants her alive.

Thanks, Leo. I did go back to the locale and remain there from midnight until 7 am, and he's a no show... I am doing Shivering now. My working theory was that finding Bruno and killing Bruno would restart the quest/update me with the "Bruno is dead, I should return to the King for my reward" message. If not, at least I kill Bruno and can say that I did that. I just need the bum to show up! Once Shivering is complete, I'll return for a more substantial wait, like 9pm onwards. Thanks again.

You are quite welcome, Railroad 1125! Good luck with that! But if it still doesn't work out for you, go here and read up! It should help you!
