Ok so i have made it to the last part of neverneath, i have done everything i am suppost to have done. I collected the rod + sword from the tomb.
Its probably important that you know i am playing off the expansion.
The door that should normally be open when i leave this area is not (barred shut), and i don't seem to get any indication that i have successfully done either of the two choices (aka the good or evil options)
I don't seem to get any of the experience, and i'm doing everything right according to all of the walkthrough's i've read.
If anyone else has had problems with getting this door to be unlocked, respond please.
Ohh and i can't bash it either, for some reason my character just stops and won't attack it...spells have no effect, and my character can't pick locks (even if it could work on the door, although i'm sure it wouldn't).
Neverneath Problem
It's possible a script didn't fire correctly. Have you tried loading your game and playing through the final room again?

Yeah, people have reported that the expansion pack and some of the later patches can mess up the OC (for example, in this thread). So if you have the time, you might want to uninstall the game and then only reinstall NWN2 and see if that changes anything.

I'm in the middle of having this exact problem. Played through most of the game without motb, just installed it an hour previous, game time. Went through the quest, through neverneath without getting all the questions right, fought the swords, grabbed the rod of never, and without knowing exactly what it did, threw it in the bag of holding. Realized I needed it to unlock the door, took it out of the bag, but couldn't get the door open. I saved and reloaded many times, trying different things and eventually got tired and quit, this was last night. So today I reload my last save prior (end of ammon jerro's) and proceed through the quest again, in high hopes, only to get to the same point, dont have to fight the swords since I know the trick, grab the rod ... ... nothing. I'm at wit's end, I'm going to try uninstalling the package and reinstalling without motb. I will report the results. Pray for me, guys. I'm going in.

Wow, that was exhausting. After trying it once more without uninstalling, it again failed to do what I needed, which is when I paid more attention and noticed that I was not recieving xp from giving correct answers, or recieving the rod. So I uninstalled and had to go a few (a few!) saves back before I found one that wasn't saved with the expansion, loaded it and worked my way back to neverneath only to die, and not save. So I repeated the process, and voila! Worked like a charm, got the xp, got the rod, door opened, no problems.
Thank you much, I've done that quest enough times now to know which dialog portions I can skip and which I cannot. I'm tired of hearing sir Nevalle's voice and I want to strangle Jerro.
So, thank you!
My other option was to start a new game, and still might do after reading some of the epic feats (which I had time to do during reinstall).
Well, I'll be keeping away from MOTB from now on.
