yeah i play first person too but after mutilating a few raiders i found peculiar looking body parts on the floor... then i went into cinematic rotation camera mode (mouse wheel button for me) and found that they were out they were indeed hands.

yeah heres some screenies very peculiar modeling of the hands... (snake fingers?) mayhaps someone wants make a mod to de-mutate our heros hands to a more human apperance lol. my guess is enourmous hands to prevent clipping on some of the larger weapons but i havent look at it with every weapon so i ...
