Mage training-SPOILERS

I was planning on taking the mage training/errands for the EXP but switching back to a fighter before level 7 and staying a fighter for the rest of the game. Will this have any adverse affects on my character compared to not doing the training?

Nice to know, kind of like turn based in Fallout and Arcanum. Thank-you.

Mage battles.

I'm pretty new to this game and I am having issues playing as a mage. What are some good combat tips? Is it possible to plan out the battle while paused, IE: spell casting, then unpause to have the actions carried out?

Just so I get this right.....

So is it better to level up to 6 as a fighter(level 7 exp seems very high) and get the stat points, 3 in total, then train as a mage by the midwife? Or is it better to go to the midwife right away and train as a mage. Just had a thought, is it possible to collect exp and stat points but not level up ...

Thank you for the info. The answer was in the manual. One thing I could not find though-When leveling up to level 6 fighter I recieved 1 stat point at each level, When I trained to be a mage I leveled up 3 times and didn't get any stat points. Is this normal?

New to game, no manual, magic question.

I am currently a level 3 mage, and can only use a spell one time before having to rest and relearn it. I noticed each spell has a 1 beside it. Does the amount of times I can use the spell before resting go up as I level up? If so what are the levels?
