you could just import your character.

I did this and sometimes if fixed my problems all and all.
but still... friendly reminder keep two saves or three of the same game and
leave one save alone after a part of game, this way if you experience anything that will and might come up you can always go ...

the quests were set for online play to split

dw bradley had not thought about this before.

as it probably didn't cross his mind until the release was already made.
Further more the quests are still set to solo.

Go on top of the tower, ignore the Shade. The Shade will follow you there. once up there switch to melee. Move around and block alot, once the Shade comes down, you can hit it.
If you get hit by the Shade use the altar on the tower, it will heal you back to full health. So no potions required at ...
