Oh yeah, am I supposed to be at a certain level for this quest? Are the walls timed and I'm supposed to have a certain speed to get back to the top in time?

I have made it to the area with the statue that needs to be opened with the arrow. However, the walls that are supposed to be moveable do not go down. I have gone into the Hall of Epochs and pushed that button in the very depths of the area and yet when I go back to the top the walls are still up ...
