Getting out of Lothering

How do you get out?

Do you have to quest off the Chanter's board?
Can you fight your way off from the back end of the town past Sten?
Do you have to help Sten, the Elder, and the woman who wants traps in order to get out? And those blasted spiders!?!

If you tell the merchant to leave is their ...

Dungeon Siege II Video Card Work arounds

I looked through the threads already and I did not see this addressed if it has been my apologies.

Does anyone know of any work arounds for getting DSII to play using a VIA Techonologies video card. I have the video memory required even though it says I don't and I have Direct X 9.0c but when I try ...

I didn't catch that you had finished the game.

Thanks

You probably haven't gotten there yet. But when you do, you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I've never had mules die but what started me using safe zones was them running in the wrong direction and there by bringing a swarm of enemies at once were as I like to use the lure and kill method. After one particularly nasty episode early in the game with Klaws, wolfs, and ice mages I've used ...

What does the Fury Eye do in Single Player

I picked up a Fury Eye from a chest but can not figure out what it does if anything. Anybody know with out spoiling anything important in the future.
I'm in the Swaps post temple cleansing.

But if you don't want to cheat. There is another solution for single player mode.

Leave your donkey's in safe zones. That is towns or areas you have already cleared out.

Since in single player, monsters do not respawn this is a very viable option. The only draw back is the back tracking to ...

I play on a AMD in a Compac of all things with no problems, other than the ones I normally experience.
I too got the message about not seeming to have 3D capabilities. But it installed anyway.
But I have not modified my system other than to add more memory and an additional CD rom drive, and an ...

Transmute is not worthless, It's a matter of your strategy and what's important to you.

I'm up to the eastern swaps and I still run into a lot of 10-50 coin items like thin caps and linen garments.
And rather than waste the space for a 10 coin item I transmute get a couple of coins and retain the ...

I really like DS. The seamless environment, the detail, not being stuck in a class, having "combat mages" that can wear armor, and not having to have 12 charts, 15 graphs, and a statistics degree to figure out whether I should give my 1 lousy experience point after 40 hours of play to one handed ...

No, it all lines up the same, its consistant in that sense.

Dex gives better bows
strentgh gets better weapons & armor
and Intelligence better spells.

With the addition of Merk, I have basically dedicated 1 character to archery and she does great damage at a distance. In fact, all my characters ...

The better bows (both magically enhanced and normal) are what increase damage. But, you can't get the better bows with out high dexterity. So that's were dexterity to damage comes in.

Angus,

I understand what you're saying, and if that's true then that's annoying. Because if a weapon is marked melee, and the way you increase strength is to melee, then to not increase strength with a melee weapon is misleading as well as annoying. I'm not saying that it doesn't make sense, it ...

I disagree, simply because you can find some staffs that do a lot of damage as melee weapons. That's why I couldn't understand the slow strength advancement with my gladitor using a staff. But as soon as I switched her to an axe of lesser damage per hit and the same attack speed (both axes and ...

Angus, I think knowing that kind of stuff before hand, takes some of the fun out of the game. I have a game guide, but I only use it for mapping when I get lost, which I frequently do and once I've been through an area to see if I missed something and can therefore go back to retrieve it. But, never ...

Thanks guys, but from what I've experienced since I made the post. The guy (I really should pay closer attention to handles) that said melee yes plus heavy weapon seems to be right. I was having my Gladiator melee like crazy but with a staff, (because the staff looks cool) and strength just dragged ...

I'm surprised to see you have 2 nature mages. So far, the nature spells with the exception of healing spells are very very very weak. And the healing spells take forever to gain experience with. I don't like locking my characters into 1 thing if I can help it. So 3 out of 5 are "multi" class. My ...

So far, the only thing I've seen the dexterity rating effect is what bow you can use. The higher the dex the better the bow with power and distance. So If your melee, I concur with the first guy. You don't seem to need dex.
