I'm thinking I prefer the Infinity engine way of doing this... but maybe I can get used to it... :/

The TOB interface is absolutely wonderful compared to what I have just encountered in Pool of Radiance... UGH... but I've only played for an hour or so... sigh... let's see if I can get used to it.

Gonna try out Arcanum soon too, no idea what -that- interface will be like, but I'm really REALLY ...

I'm voting for Undead Hunter, especially if you prefer good aligned parties. I prefer playing fighters cause I pretty much consider Imoen, Aerie and Jaheira to be must haves in my party, and as far as I'm concerned the Undead Hunter blows every other fighter class or kit away.

You have a Kensai/Thief dual that can use any item at the start of chapter 3? Dear God. What level did you dual the kensai at?

Yeah, but good luck -getting- Carsomyr as a solo undead hunter, heheh. Yes, my first play through was with one, and yes, he was an awesome character and an awesome class, but I don't know about soloing Firkragg.

You're only allowed one stronghold in a game, so yup, it's the fact that you got the thief one that's preventing you from getting the fighter one.

There was apparently a bug somewhere that let you get the fighter and the mage one if you dual or multi classed those two classes, but may have been ...

No one will leave the party in ToB under any conditions. Don't know if it could affect a romance tho. But be assured, no one will bail no matter what reputation you have.

My first party -

Me (Undead Hunter Paladin)
Keldorn
Valygar
Jaheira
Imoen
Aerie

Used Nalia before picking up Imoen... this party ROCKED both SoA and ToB

Alternative question:

Are the NPC starting stats that are broken fixed by either the BG2 official patch or ToB? I realize that they could only be fixed by such things when starting a new game and first encountering them. How about being able to rest in the paladin stronghold?

If those things are ...

ACK! Baldurdash fix problem

Okay. After having played a full game through... and started a couple of others (including a Kensai)... I decided from reading the Baldurdash bug list that I would play from the beginning with those fixes, because among other things I want Imoen's thief skills to be what they were supposed to be ...

Valygar can rock, especially when he's using Celestial Fury and Crom Faeyr :) First time around, I didn't realize I had the potential to put 3 spots into Dual Wield... if so, and using Montecristo's cloak, I can actually get -0 Main Hand / -0 Off hand! Looking forward to trying it.

I haven't played ...

Actually, I thought I'd just point out my signature tag to everyone here, and ask how they see it relating to this topic... especially Polaris, since I actually agree with him overall, lol. By the way, I'm fairly certain that the author of my quote was Thomas Paine... pretty western, I'd say.

To answer one of the questions asked, I'd have to say Kensai/Mage would be a better dual than Kensai/Cleric, simply because you will not be limited in your weapon choices if you are a K/Mu, whereas you will be restricted as a K/Cleric. In addition, when both are activated, I believe you still cannot ...
