You are missing a great opportunity if you ignore dual-wielding. A couple pips in dual weapon style still allows two pips in long sword and axe, mace or hammer. And, of course, you can always go to a shield for the added abilities - shield such as reflection, or Balduran's.

Well, you can try to frequent bars and nightclubs - if you have an adventurer's guild hall in your town, that's another good place. Oh, and wizard's colleges, if there is promise of ...

No, I meant wand. But you are right - it's not there, it's not in BG1 at all. I must have used a wand of fire, or a potion of explosions. Something to blast them before they come at me.

Actually, it works better to set the pathfinding LOWER.

If the AI cannot find a path in the number or nodes, it stops the character from moving. This is often preferable to taking a long route around, which can accidentally draw out monsters who were safely unaware of your party.

Also, I believe ...

Technically, your character continues to accumulate experience no matter what. It just is stopped from applying at the 89000 or 161000 level. When you import in BG2-SoA, they apply the cap anew.

Now, remember that the game isn't complete for L5 spells (which is 10th level Mage & priest). but it ...

The updates you mention are core engine updates. The code to do them would mean extending the classes compiled into the executable - in other worlds, it would be a source-level change. If you have both, though, you can try using the BG2 executable in the BG1 directory, though I doubt it will work ...

Well, I've used Garrick for part of the adventure quite often - I would give him non-combat spells and magical chain, and have him archer in the battles. You have a Palette mis-load.

The solution is to change to a different color depth to play the game - there should be something like this in the baldur.ini file:
[Program Options]
BitsPerPixel=32

Set this to 16, and you should have better luck. You can also try running in a window - just hit ctrl ...

Purely on a technical level, the trumpets lead up to the period of the beast-power; this is after the seventh trumpet releases the four horsemen (war plague, famine & death). And it is prior to the seventh trumpet that the 144,000 elect are sealed. So the "hey there ain't been no rapture" argument ...

Missile and spell effects apply when they strike the target. A fast enough target can flee the area and avoid the effect. However, closing a door will not disrupt the effect.

But a thief that can cast invisibility is a cool thing. And his gadgets rule.

For me, it's Lilacor.
I can't imagine Minsc without it - it keeps him from being a highly annoying buffoon, and makes him instead a highly annoying person to the other side. Too many things try to confuse, charm or hold - and Lilacor makes the difference in battles.

You pay off Gaelan Bayle & get the "Shadow Thief Cellar Key".

Of course, you could use the cheat code to give this to yourself. I have not tested whether doing that brings the dialog set you expect of Aran Linvail, because the "huge sum" of money is actually easily stealable in Athkatla, and is ...
