Do side quests need to be completed prior to beginning Chapter 4?

For future reference, could you please refrain from posting potential spoilers in your topic. It ruins part of the game for those of us who haven’t gotten that far yet.

I have played both and found BGII to have greater depth and replayability. However, this being said, if you have not played BGI I would highly recommend it. It will have a sligthly different feel to it but it is an enjoyable game none the less. Just make sure you get the expansion pack.

Even though I have wanted to, I have never used Melf’s Minute Meteors. Do strength adjustments (both to hit and damage bonuses) apply?

My first time through I had the same experience as Dimensional. I inflicted over 300 hit points of damage before trying cure light wounds (with Jahiera) and .... it worked.

Try searching the net for "Lady Nightshade." This is a custom portrait site for BGII, Icewind Dale, and perhaps some other. Happy portrait hunting!
