My husband got me the enhanced version today and I got all giddy and exicted, but in candlekeep, I've already run into a minor bug, I can't seem to get Firebeard's scroll off the guy he left it with, I know who he is and where, so that's not an issue, but I cannot get him to turn it over and I have ...

Whichever one you like the sound of. However, Enchanter does get rid of a lot of good damage dealing spells, so be aware of that.

I don't believe there's a pause button but try using turn-based combat instead of real time, which you can do either by hitting space or in the game options (O). That'll give you an easier time in combat (especially as a mage).

Items are identified by "wise women" who are on the outskirts of towns ...

There's been rumours for about 6 years now of it being made, let alone "out soon"...definitely not. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if a BG3 comes out in the next couple of years, and if it does it'll be based on the (awful-looking) 4th edition rules and from completely selfish (commercial ...

Pretty much the same as Mewp. I'm currently in chapter 2 of the original campaign, Half-Orc Druid6/Barbarian1/Ranger1 (yes I know, xp penalty, boohoo). Going to tackle SoU and HotU after.

it was 1998 and I was 9 years old, when my dad came bragging to me about how he'd bought this game Baldur's Gate, and showed me how it had 5 discs and everything, and I wasn't really impressed. He didn't have a computer so he couldn't even show me what it was about nor play it himself!
Then in ...

Xan is probably my favourite NPC mod. And I thought the voice acting was acceptable.

Kivan, well, it bugs me that he arrives at lvl8 with 40hp, meaning he contends with Aerie for lowest hitpoints, so I always have to edit his hp in ShadowKeeper after accepting him to bring him up to a more normal ...

But yeah, now most of us play the second one of Heart of Fury and still beat it. It was probably difficult because it was your first time. For Baldur's Gate, most people here have been playing it for over a decade. XD We know the games inside and out. XD
I'm one of those people, and Sarevok was ...

The necessary ones can be forced with pretty much anyone bashing it, e.g. the locked door in Nalia's Keep. As for loot, you're pretty much stuck with Knock spells and occasionally using giant strength potions to bash. There is a mod that takes away all the locks, I believe it's Ease-of-Use, or it ...

I had something similar, but it was user error. I got back in the lift on the 2nd floor and I'd press the button (which came up as 1) and the doors would close and re-open and I'd still be on the 2nd floor. After about 3 minutes of repeating this, I re-aimed the crosshair over the "1" button and it ...

@Klorox - you're probably thinking of IWD2. There's a mod at WeiDU.org which adds Ribald Barteman to Targos.

Dwarf Fighter
Human Paladin
Elf Ranger
Halfling Cleric
Half-elf Druid
Half-elf Mage/Thief

Three tanks is nice to have in IWD, so I went with the Paladin and Fighter for a bit of variety (rather than just two fighters) and a Ranger as the main damage dealer.
I went with two single-classed priests ...

I love the IWD2 engine, it's a shame it got quite largely ignored by the modding communities. I would probably be a little more interested in tuturising IWD1, but I'm going through IWD2 at the moment with the NPC project and finding it less boring :)

If you expect Nalia to be a superthief, you'll be severely disappointed. She's only got four thief levels and that won't change. The way to think of Nalia, is as a Mage with some nice rogue perks. She gets a small HP boost from her rogue levels and give her a shortbow (tuigan bow) and a shortsword ...

I was disappointed with IWD after being a BG fan for years. I picked up the dvd box set which included 1&2, but it just felt pretty soulless for me due to the linearity; one entrance, one exit as others said, constant fight against mobs enough to make you go crazy etc., never really felt like I was ...

Graphics are unimportant to me. Out of the three games listed that I have played I prefered PoR-RoMD. I kind of classifed the other 2 as "hack'em up" games. As Mr. Sir said there was little thought...especially DS... you just followed a preset path and killed stuff. I thought RoMD played alot more ...

I've always like Nashkel a lot, with Baldur's Gate second. I don't like cities much, but when you experience that music for the first time, it's special ;) Especially since it took nearly two years for me to reach there with my irregular playing and regular restarting.

If I'd played NWN first, I might have really liked it. Unfortunately, Baldur's Gate was my first game and it blew me away so much that after buying NWN, I couldnt't even bring myself to play past chapter 2. I'd say definitely buy it, as long as you're someone who prefers content over looks, the ...
